Just trying to get a read on if people are having better luck now that several weeks have passed since release. Trying to figure out whether I should bother to try picking one up at retail again.

I've included options in the poll for those of you who have a burning desire to vote but bought earlier than August.

Received mine a few hours ago. So far I have no noticeable screen issues, or any build issues in general. Screens a fingerprint magnet, more so than the book tablet it replaces.

Got mine a few days ago. No screen separation issues or creaking at all. Awesome device but I do seem to have the flicker now and then, which is incredibly annoying. Did they say they'd come up with a software fix for that?

Got mine on the 1st.
Slight screen raising, hardly call it separation but still not right.

I'm more curious about the kink/warp in the frame which might suggest it has had something done to it before I got it.
Whether it's a fixed return or something or just a routine fix they are doing I dunno.

Just got a 16Gb this past weekend and I had to look for it. I think I do have some separation. I do have a little raise and when I squeeze the screen down I get a little creaking sound. I didn't notice until I went looking though.

Should I return for an exchange? I bought at my local Walmart.

If it was me, I would. You just don't know if it might get worse with age. But that's the good thing about buying at Walmart. You don't have to do all the shipping back and forth.

I would, I've only heard of folks having it get worse, not better.

FYI mine is perfect from last month direct from Google Tennessee warehouse, but it does have a slight concave bend to the screen and frame when viewed along the long edge.

Anyone have any pics of the worst ones? Mine started after more use but it seems to have stopped and only really noticeable via my finger nail... But its there... Just wondering how bad it gets? Honestly at this point as long as it functions I could really care less since its in a case but now I'm curious.

Below are the worst images I have seen.

I took a few pictures. All of them were taken in the dark and without flash to give a fair representation:

Got my third today.
Of course the first thing I did was inspect the screen very closely.
No sign of screen lift!
In fact, no sign of any problems at all so far. Gyro working this time, no creaking or movement from the screen, screen looks perfect, sounds sound perfect.

I'll be keeping a close eye on everything over the coming days but hopefully i finally have a perfect N7.

Just got my 2nd one delivered from Radio Shack yesterday, still has it but it's the best one so far. I couldnt find it at first but I asked my wife to look at she saw it right away.

I haven't turned it on to see if there are any other issues yet. I leaning towards returning it.

I got my 2nd replacement today and it is MUCH better. Solid screen, no rise or noises. So far...

the other 2 were immediately obvious out of the box, so I am hopeful.

(these were all Google Play orders)

My replacement turned up today 09.08.12, the screen is much better, but still "lifted" the width of a sheet of paper above the bezel on the left. Its not "separated" though like my first, and doesnt flex, so I wont be returning this one.

I sent my 2nd one in for a refund about 10 days ago. I've missed it so much I went to Walmart today and they had 2 in stock that just came in so I bought one. It has a slight creak in one small spot in the upper left. The same spot as the one I returned for a refund. If I hold it down for a minute, it will stay with no creak .. for a few seconds. Everything else is fine and no noticeable light bleed or dead pixels, so I'll keep it at least until Walmart's 15 day return is almost up and see how its doing then.

I got mine on August 10 when Walmart got a new shipment in and so far no issue. Is there a specific build number that has this glass issue? My N7 build number is JR003D.

That build number is relative to the build of the OS on your N7, not a hardware run.

I didn't want to vote right away, wanted to give it at least a few days first -- got mine from OfficeMax, and no issues. No dead pixels, separating screen, creaking side, light bleed, any of that stuff. *knocking on wood*

I was a little hesitant to buy after reading about all these issues, but glad that I did.
