But unluckily for you, and the rest of us, no solid candidate phones exist for you to buy.

I'll be happy with the Devour for now. It will last me until the 4g lte network is available. Especially if the Incredible is released without any support of 4g in the near future, I"ll be good to go . Even 3 g aint bad for now. We'll all be back here in 2 years begging Verizon to release the HTC Incredible 4g phone.... Like some are waiting fo the iphone 4g... which is kind of dumb since AT&T is the last company to convert to 4g from what i've read.

Apple doesn't make you pay for phones, they make you pay for updates and you pay by buying a new phone. With Android, fortunately, you pay for a phone and you receive free updates eventually. Eventually is definately better than having to buy a new phone to have the latest updates and software features, such as pinch to zoom.

Just a theory, but is it possible we are the reason Verizon didn't announce the Incredible? The only people who follow stuff like CTIA are dorks like us, so why waste time talking about it, when we already know about it? Instead they used their time to talk about stuff we didn't know (and didn't care) about.

<-- just realized when making a cell phone call he's talking into a calculator...

*must get rid of enV2* ahhhhhhh

Very true, we represent a very small % of their subscribers who would want this phone.

I think VZW doesn't really give 2 *hits.. I think they will do it when they want to and don't really care either way if people are or are not wanting/waiting for this phone. All they were/are thinking about was getting an iPhone contender (check, moto droid) and now LTE (check, which they are working feverishly on).

EDIT: On a side note, if I have to hear that tool on the TV talking about break neck wave crashing, surfing speed *hit about the droid, I'm gonna break the TV. He sounds like the biggest chunt I've ever heard.

the mods got upset about people adding them.

We only get 'upset' if people add meaningless tags. The tag feature is a very helpful search tool, but it's only useful if the tags themselves are. ;)

Also, I've deleted several more posts rehashing last night's events. Please don't take it personally if one of them was yours - the reason is simply to draw a line under the incident and (hopefully) avoid any unpleasantness that might attract infractions or cause the thread to be closed. Nobody wants that to happen, least of all the mods. So please, for everybody's sake, no more arguing.

I remember when i got this one. (Samsung Gleam) You are right no solid phones exist at all, but i seen this one had living wallpaper, which i hadn't ever seen. It shows a car driving in a city or country, your preference and when it starts to get dark it changes the scene 4 times, sunrise, sunshine, dusk and dark. That is my favorite feature. Also it has a living walpaper of a cigarette lighter flame... So i've had my flame app well before Iphone had theres i bet, or at least i'm pretty close to even with them on that app already... It's not very bright bit i have that on my outside screen that shows who's calling and the time and date. and the inside i have the country scene. During the day you see birds fly and at night you see stars falling lol.... Very basic i know, so i was a little suprised that Android's didn't have this already, but i know it's coming which makes us all happy. :D:D

The funny part is talking about Verizon, My wife upgrades before me to the gleam and i had an older samsung phone, the old one showed the pic when i signed in, but not hte gleam pic of my wifes, so eventually i upgraded and my wife went to the rogue last year because let's be honest, nothing good has been released at that time, Great Call quality but nothing spectacular as far as apps, and her pic of the rogue showed on the website and a month or two later the gleam finnally showed a pic.... With that kind of logic, i can see why the droid 2.1 update has been pushed back numerous times.

There is another VZW Twitter handle @HeadlinesVZ which IMO should be getting bombarded with Tweets about the INC as well.

They won't reply to equipment inquiries- looks to be strictly news headlines, not VZW headlines. Probably maintained by some customer service rep at a call center in a corner cubicle bored out of his mind, who has never even heard of the INC... ha

I'd be fine with a late April/early may release. I just want Verizon to formally acknowledge that it's coming.

I agree I wish Verizon would just give us a timeline... ANY concrete timeline so I can formulate a game plan based on facts, not speculation.

Is that too much to ask?

comon' Verizon, just say something official!!!!!! GEES!

ok i know this wont help me but i just sent vzw a very long email explaining my frustration and i still have no staisfaction. ok so lets say worse case senario no phone by 4/15?? i want a new phone which i use for work email etc. what will be the best one out there???

Hope I don't get burned down for this, but honestly the TP2 is very good for a business setting where you are typing long e-mails. The keyboard is fantastic. My wife has it and it's very nice for its purpose. The older generation hardware shouldn't mean much if it's a business phone.

Motorola's move to push Android 2.1 out to its popular Motorola Droid smartphones has been delayed by more than a week, prompting an angry backlash from users expecting new feaures. The company said via its Facebook Page March 25 the rollout is taking longer than expected. Meanwhile, the Google Nexus One, rumored to roll out from Verizon Wireless at the CTIA Wireless 2010 show March 23, is still not on Verizon. A spokesperson said it's not happening...yet.

Motorola's move to push Android 2.1 out to its popular Motorola Droid smartphones has been delayed, the company said via its Facebook Page March 25.
Motorola pledged to begin upgrading the Droids from Android 2.0 to the latest version of Google's Android mobile operating system March 18, offering users pinch-to-zoom multitouch, voice-to-text entry and other features.
A Motorola spokesperson told eWEEK the upgrade would be deployed to a small number of Verizon Wireless test users that day, with a broader rollout to all Droid users coming shortly thereafter.
More than a week has passed and still no upgrades, much to the dismay of users hoping for a better Android user experience. Motorola posted this message on its Facebook Page:
"We know you guys are anxiously awaiting the upgrade from 2.0 to 2.1. Ultimately, we want to ensure you have the best possible experience on your device; as a result, the rollout is taking longer than expected. Though we don't have the new deployment date to share just yet, we do promise we are working to get you updated information and will relay it as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience. We appreciate it!"

Patience does not seem to be a part of the equation, according to the comments on Motorola's Facebook Page. Dejection and outrage are the norm among nearly 400 comments.
Joshua Weissman wrote: "yeah best possible experience I think its too late after the three dates promised and then pulled from you. You should just be concerned about getting it out by the end of march Q1 (Another time frame you promised) ends march 31."
Ken Schweda added: "Seriously how much time is needed? Come on Verizon and Motorola. if Milestone can upgrade surely you can get Droid t to also. This really should have done months ago. How many times have we hear this? My question is do really think this has been handled well by either company. We have five lines and two droids. We have been with Verizon since 2003. I expect more and have been very disappointed."
Barry Wood offered some balance on behalf of the companies: "Lovin' my DROID! The update will be released when moto and vzw are sure that it works 100%, y'all be patient!"
Chris Giles agreed: "what i dont understand is you all bought your phones knowing what it was running and until they said they were going to upgrade them at some point you all bitch that you need the upgrade now or your selling your phone."
Angry Droid users began alerting eWEEK to Motorola's failure to launch 2.1 late in the day March 18. One anonymous reader wrote to eWEEK: "lies, all lies, still no update. broken software, ignorant verizon support, no help for issues, at least 3 false releases from motorizon."
Late software upgrades are quite common in the wireless world. While they are treated with a healthy dose of scorn and skepticism, it doesn't compare to a failed rumor that a carrier is supporting a favored phone.
The blog Neowin cited an anonymous Google employee who claimed Verizon Wireless will begin offering Google's Nexus One smartphone on March 23, timed for the CTIA Wireless 2010 show. This rumor was buoyed by the fact that the Nexus One passed FCC inspection for use on Verizon's CDMA network.
At least five Android smartphones were released at the Las Vegas show, though none of them came from Verizon, which is expected to offer the Nexus One this spring.
eWEEK asked when the carrier would have an "update" on the Nexus One situation, which of course was an unconfirmed rumor. A Verizon spokesperson replied: "Update? We've never said we were selling the Nexus One. Nothing has changed."
Meanwhile, HTC CEO Peter Chou proclaimed the Nexus One, which has only sold about 150,000 units since its Jan. 5 launch, a success. Chou told Forbes the Nexus One will improve HTC's other Android phones:
"We can quickly leverage that credit to show that we are the top Android brand."
He also said Google is happy with the device, recalling arguments that Google isn't trying to sell more devices than Apple's iPhone, but to get enough mobile market share for its search and advertising.

That would be nice. I'll need something from them to talk me down from buying the N1 as soon as it gets announced. Assuming the N1 is out first.

Right now, I'd say its a 99% probability that INC comes before N1. Summer release for the N1 *MAYBE*. Maybe even as a Back2School phone..

I know this is pro android, but if I had to pick a phone right now from their current lineup, I think I'd go with the Omnia II. I could see the Incredible not being out by the 15th, but I can't imagine that the N1 won't be available by then.

Just what I'd go with.

It irritates me to no end that Sprint customers already know about their beloved EVO before it has even passed FCC and won't be available for at least another three months. They don't even know when exactly, but at least they have confirmation that the phone exists and a general timeline with which they can base their phone buying decisions on.

The Incredible, however, is much farther along in the production cycle (allegedly) and set to be released within the next month (allegedly) but for whatever reason Verizon continues to leave us in the dark.

Mind-bottling.

The TP2 is a cool phone, but iits not an android, so if you care about something like GPS, realize you'll be paying extra (on top of the $30 data plan) for VZ Navigator.

As far as actual phones that are available: the N1. Just one problem....

As far as phones that are coming: the EVO. Just one problem....

As far as actual phones that are available AND are available on Verizon: hmmm, I'd honestly have to go with the Pre right now. Droid and Storm2 are close runners-up.
