Can I pick up an Eris today, hold onto it for 3 weeks, return it, go back to my enV Touch and then pick up the Incredible when it'll (hopefully) be out within the next 4-5 weeks or so?

That got me thinking.....Not sure if anyone knows the answer, but I'm still under contract under my parents family plan contract, just graduated from college last may, but I will be breaking off from them, and I won't be in the same market as I was before.....will VZW force me to get a new number because I signed a new contract in a different market?

I dont think i've attacked anyone, and despite his history of name calling, i had no interest in getting him banned or even punished. My plan moving forward is just to ignore everything he says, and he can do the same with me.

You see the issue with all these "sources"? We trust you, but the source is probably as confused as we are about where the phone is. He's probably trying to justify why the phone is in his own mind and is giving that out as his idea OR is accepting anything he hears as justification. This happens EVERYTIME a new phone is released because the sources are as pissed of as the rest of us and they go about justifying why it isn't out yet. Which we take as fact, and this gets us to where we are now.

If you don't see it with your own eyes, or hear it from someone in the executive level of Verizon. YOU CAN'T BELIEVE IT.

Hey I meant to ask you more questions last night before everything blew up.

You said you work for verizon and your regional president came in and she had the incredible and expect about 4-6 weeks?

Was there anything else? Like:
What did she refer to it as?

Was the model she was using the one with the black contoured back?

Just anything generally about the phone you can remember would be great, Thanks!

I think your parents can call into VZW and have you dropped from the plan and have VZW create your own account based off of your parents address and you just get paperless billing so the address doesn't matter. I think.

Nope- "markets" only apply with porting. All you're doing is taking your line and going out on your own acct

Sure. You won't be able to exchange the Incredible, though.. (Or w/e phone you decide to get if you decide against the Inc- better make sure you like it :rolleyes:)
 
Well I had a little fun. At lunch today I called Verizon and asked about what my ETF's are because I'm ready simply to jump ship..

She asked me why since I'm such a long time customer....

I said... Make sure you are recording this..............................

I took a deep breath and..... fired BOTH BARRELS! :D

I won't bore you with the details.. we all know they know nothing and how it goes.. but MAN!!! Did it feel good to VENT!!! :D

I was thinking ...maybe if enough of us do that... .they will start to get the message... :)

They don't charge you any mins. to dial 611 hhehhe :p

And it's GREAT therapy for the addicted!!! ;)

Hmm, that's a possibility. This might give me a reason to claim my freedom from the gigantic bill/second tier hardware trap that is VZW. Everyone I hear from here seems to get good sprint coverage, so the 69.99 plan with an Evo is sounding pretty good, and then in 2012, when VZW has their LTE shit figured out, I can switch back. The good thing about changing numbers is I can just give out my GV number which is the ultimate in number portability.

So it's like tearing down a house and starting with better blueprints, than trying to fix up my existing house.

Edit: I live in Minneapolis now, so the 4G rollout schedule is another plus for the Evo as long as the bill for it isn't too big of a jump.
 
I mean other than the obvious why won't any of the online reps come chat with me? (and the obvious is that I am a richard head).
 
What does "On Probation" even mean? I can tell what Non-Posting Probation is, but I'm confused as to what simple "On Probation" is.

Even if everyone on this forum did that, and furthermore we all left Vz, it wouldn't make a dent in their numbers. All you would be doing is tying up CSR from people who actually need help.

Not regional pres- AREA pres- one of the 4 :cool: so she's pretty legit and I don't think she would have one if she was just doing testing for them.. But yea it was all black, didnt actually get to talk to her, but I was standing a little ways away and could her the convo between her, the store manager, and another rep who was talking with them. She pulled it out of her pocket to look at it and that prompted the rep to ask about it and she said late April/early May. I think realistically it might be a little longer because I'd think that we'd have heard some pre-launch buzz about it by now since that normally happens 4-6 weeks before launch.. I know some posters have mentioned the CFO call on the 22nd I think it is, and they'll probably make some kind of announcement then.. Unless she's way off, or there's a delay in releasing it, they'd have to announce it before the call because that doesnt give much breathing room before the launch timeframe that she quoted. But anyways, she didnt offer any more details about it and obviously she wouldnt have anyway since its not even officially announced.. But yea, SICK a$$ screen on that thing- its huge..

not quite sure I understand what you're asking. if you are saying that you will be leaving your current market and moving to a new one, and you will be opening your own acct there, then I don't know that you will be able to take the number with you. I am not stating this as fact, just based on some of what I've read, which isn't extensive.

I do know, that when you do open your own acct, your parents can sign an authorization to release the number to you. keep in mind, don't close any acct's until everything is signed and approved - make sure you go over this with them a couple of times so there's no eff-up :)

EDIT: just read iBowToAndroid's response above and he sounds like he knows more about it. I guess it depends on what the definition of porting is. are you porting the number because it is being transferred from one acct to another, or, only if it is being transferred to another carrier? I think the latter is what he is inferring...
