I know some posters have mentioned the CFO call on the 22nd I think it is, and they'll probably make some kind of announcement then.. Unless she's way off, or there's a delay in releasing it, they'd have to announce it before the call because that doesnt give much breathing room before the launch timeframe that she quoted. But anyways, she didnt offer any more details about it and obviously she wouldnt have anyway since its not even officially announced.. But yea, SICK a$$ screen on that thing- its huge..

How much did you here about the Droid or the Eris before their release? And how far back?

I can't imagine that they have any sort of serious hardware/software issues if we've now seen two Execs at least using them as their phone (The one guy at CTIA was spotted with it), so this must just come down to their own marketing/business scheme.

At the same time though, some sort of issue like that is the only reason I can imagine for the top secret nature of this thing. So I'm at a loss.

See, I know I can trust this source. Its just I don't know if I can trust where they're getting their information from, but they are in corporate. They're rather high up in their position so they should be able to ask around with confidence and get a good response. Take this with a grain of salt, too, but I truly believe me source. I don't want to, but I do. :(
 
Message boards are like church. Church you say how so.. Well one person gets pissed at another person for thinking or believing a certain way then it splits. Everyone taking sides right down the middle. Seen it many many many times. I def can understand why the mods are trying to clean it up. Churches split for the same exact reason. No compromise and hard headedness.

Didnt hear a whole lot- mostly speculation, just like on here. Nothing concrete until the trainings and pre-launch buzz happened, which I think was sometime between when the ads started and when they actually announced it- dont remember the exact timeframe

Yeah but if you are creating a whole new account isn't that market related? You have to give your own social, address etc. That (IMO) would constitute them requiring a change of number. Of course I could be wrong but when my wife and I moved we created a family account (from an individual account) and we had to change our numbers (all I did was add her to my account).
 
Wow, this thread used to be fun!

We are all excited about this new phone for Verizon but its still a phone (albeit an incredible one). Montana Man's posts, whether fabricated or not have no bearing on what Verizon does or when you'll be able to rush out and buy it. Threatening and calling him names...or anyone else for that matter, if even in jest, is just poor form.

Montana Man, you're a gentleman and a scholar. The fact you even put up with this abuse leads me to believe you are above reproach and I thank you for keeping me tied to this forum for days and weeks on end! Even if the box and the HTC rep are totally false stories, they have been some rather intriguing stories and you have a gift. Ultimately you got a bum rap but just know you have a few fans around these parts.

Now excuse me while I go interrogate my HTC friend for any nuggets of information on this phone.

Its not though- I know its weird.. The line already exists, its already set up, so all you're doing is taking over legal financial responsibility for it. You should never HAVE to change your number when you move. You can get whatever number you want- you can live in LA but request a NYC area code if you want..

So if they were going to announce the phone (or at least begin running ads) on April 1st, you most likely would have heard something by now?

Because it seems like from what you're saying they could announce it April 1st, and then have a release on say the 20th with training etc to go on for the 3 weeks in between? (I'm merely picking popular dates people, no info here)

I just feel like once this BOGO deal is over March 31, they are going to push something. Maybe they wait another week to announce, but still they usually have some angle they are pushing.
 
HTC will only be able to give you confirmation of the phone stats. They can only speculate about the release date. The higher up management might know but only from higher up Verizon management.
Verizon will know the release date. They might know phone stats but probably only higher up management.

Just tidbits as to what to ask who.

I find it strange that it actually shows when you're on probation.

OT:I have been holding on to NKT's mid-April release date. I tried pumping a manager yesterday and got absolutely nothing. He didn't know of ANY new devices except that they would have the N1, eventually. I need some new info to keep the hope alive.

Must be now. I did this 5 years ago and they made me change. Or maybe I changed it myself and when my wife was added she had to change. Don't remember. Sucks getting old (and by old I mean losing brain cells from drinking).
 
This is getting out of hand and I am seriously considering getting out of this forum. What is happening to us all?

This has turned into a playground for people to just throw sand at each other. I again had to read through ten pages of just plain arguing. And now MM is on probation? WTF

NKT's source never gave a date.

NKT said based on his own best guess was Mid-April, and he said that from the start and has stuck to it (it is an educated guess though given his access to verizon databases etc)

Well first of all it Was a valid call. I needed the etf info to formulate an alternate game plan since the primary plan is apparenty based on rumor and speculation. And secondly............ SHE ASKED!!!! :)
