Root Jmz on for CM9-Mission complete

Hey, honestly richking, I did the same thing and just made sure to wrap it well before I tapped it. :P But really man, the chances of you screwing up the process are very little and benefits outweigh the risks by seismic proportions.
 
Alright if someone makes a video tutorial for it. Also i have a spare micro sd card i could use and put my 16 gb in after right?

If you are really considering s-off find an old power cord to a cordless phone or an old cell phone charger you don't use anymore. Cut off about a 2-3 inch length and carefully peel off the insulation on each end with nail clippers to expose copper wiring on each side. This will do you way better then a paper clip.
 
i used common from a 8wire..thermostat wire..its very thin..very bendable and flexible..stiff ends so no twisting and winding to keep strands together..luckily i do hvac so i have tons of it..i guess most ppl wouldnt

I just grabbed some thin wire I had laying around. Basically if it is conductive, insulated, and will fit, it will work
 
Still would be nice if it could be working on a non downgraded phones. I am using Mobster rom now and the performance if very good. I installed it with the 4ext recovery so no need to s-off at all with this phone and I still get the anthrax kernel with overclocking. I am sure there are going to be a lot more people getting this phone and it would be great if someone could get cm 10 running on it without having to downgrade.

Just curious why everyone would go to the trouble of getting jmz a evo v just for it to be downgraded to a evo 3d? There are developers working on evo 3d cm10 roms so besides the mms/sms issue what will be gained really?

Agrabren quit, so no, no one is currently working on CM9/10. AOKP is still sort of being worked on but without the cm base not sure how far it will get.

Also I don't understand what you mean by downgraded to an evo 3d. It's the same phone and the 3d software isn't buggy like the VM software. Really it should be called an upgrade.

Plus jmz is one Heck of a dev and can build the shiz out off aosp.
 
So in case anyone is stalking my other threads in another device forum. (Jk) :p. I want you guys to know that stupidity doesn't sit well with me. And when you have nothing better to contribute other than bashing the original post I will remove it all together. I understand bug reports and saying this or that is broken and that's completely understandable. But I will not hand hold how to flash a ROM and a kernel. That attitude in the other thread isn't really me. Look at my cm9 thread for supersonic. 330 pages and not one mod intervention.

I just didn't want you guys to think you enlisted the help of a jackass of a dev.

Don't worry about it. Some people just can't be bothered to look at the "this blatantly explains how to solve your problem" thread and ask somewhere else.

How many tries did it take you? Mine was first or second so I was wondering if the reason some people were stuck on the process all day is because a copper wire is more conductive then a paper clip

The point is there are developers working on the evo 3d cm9/10 if you take some time to look.

I am not saying anything bad about jmz. I know he is a good developer. I am just suggesting that his time may be wasted. What happens if they push another upgrade to the new phones that prevent downgrading of the hboot? People who purchase the phone later may be stopped from doing the downgrade. Just a thought.

I don't think JMZ will be wasting his time. All of the CM9/10 roms have issues like 3d 4g and camera, and having more developers working on them will get them fixed faster.

i would disagree..there are few developers building cm from source bro..agraabren but he quit..so even though you see several cm9 cm10 roms over at 3d section on xda..there isn't much getting fixed there or syncing with cm because there all ports of the same rom with many problems..like three of them are from the same guy lol..my point is..just because some one takes devil toast and makes two other roms out of it..it still has the same broken features that devil toast does. you can't tweak a broken rom..you have to fix the things that are broken then tweak it.
 
also if they push an update that prevents hboot downgrade..that would be up to the user to do a little research before taking any ota. anyone who is serious about Modding phones is hesitant about ota's..and if you were to just accept any update pushed out before finding out the possible changes and consequences.. well then he or she may not be needing to mod their phone in the first place..i personally could see one point of view about how jmz could be wasting his time..he gets a free phone..we get more support..win win lol. having more brains in this forum..especially someone who specializes in building cyanogen..could never in a million years be a bad thing or a waste of time
