Quilting room??? I just bought my very first panel to try a small thing. I want to learn hand quilting though. (Mostly because the old sewing machine I was given has issues with anything more than 1 piece of fabric)

I actually love quilting, that is my passion. I host a party monthly at my home ( now I sound really old). I love teaching mostly about the history of it. The software is also pretty fun. Mostly computerized nowadays. That was my last big purchase. I will refrain from telling you the machine price since Mr. lin may one day read this post and I will then be floating in the aforementioned pool.

I think it is the perfect getaway in a home full of testosterone ridden males!

You may want to try getting your machine serviced, If you let me know what machine it is, I may be able to tell you if it's worth it. Also, you can try pawn shops. They normally have awesome deals since crackheads generally have no need to sew.

You don't sound old. If I lived closer I'd ask to be invited! The machine I have is a Simplicity 8130.

BB you wouldn't have to ask. I enjoy teaching it almost as much as Master X enjoyed the satisfaction of helping my root. Just like to pass on the info and see what comes of it. A few years back I had a early teen class..... If I liked lil girls more I would do it again, but I don't. So I stick with people who can drink wine, cook and be merry!

You get a larger avatar and custom titles. Also, access to beta apps for the forum. And the VIP area is fun too, but for me, not the reason I am gold. I do it as I feel I still get more out of AF than I put in.

Oh, and the general feeling of awesomeness!!:)

I love my 10 year old but I really do understand that sentiment about lil girls. And thanks! If and when I get around to the panel I'll post a pic!

Just had a thought. Given that Apple is suing Samsung for nicking, what they claim, is the general UI of iOS, and that Apple drastically needs a UI face lift - what would happen if Apple suddenly started supporting widgets?

I think of these things sometimes...
