Root screen not responsive

El_rey

Newbie
i've had an issue for the past couple of days that i havent been able to resolve. i'm currently running cm 7.2 on evo 4g with stock kernel. the top of the screen has become completely unresponsive (i'd say the top 1mm). so i'm able to bring down the notification bar but the power widget (to toggle wifi, gps etc) wont toggle anymore and i noticed that on google play i cannot click the search button (since it's in that area of the screen)

of note there have been no changes to phone recently, actually had phone on airplane mode or off for a week when i was out of country and hasnt been working since. no new apps, and did reflash cm.

any help appreciated.

have you tried to wipe dalvik cache and cache? usually fixes the issue. or even another rom?

basically we need to find out if it is a software or hardware issue. if you have tried other roms and you still have the issue then it might be a hardware issue.

yes i have tried wiping cache and davlik-cache. havnet tried another rom yet. guess that'll be next step. just seems odd since i've been running this same setup for a while now without any major changes.

Sounds like its probably hardware related to me. To test make a nandroid and flash a stockish sense rom.

Do you have insurance?

tried a sense based rom (digital karma), still having the issue. i guess hardware seems to be the likely cause. unfortunately i dont have insurance. i may try to tough it out until november for the new google nexus devices.

thanks to all for the help.
