Root process com.android.systemui stopped unexpectedly - PROBLEM FIXED!

So, I rooted my Esteem... everything was going great with it. First time ever rooting a phone, I was amazed at how simple it was. I used the Root v2, I was able to do what I needed to, got rid of bloatware - but only things that were on the safe list - and I was extremely happy.

I decided, while I'm at it... lets flash a theme, so I loaded RZ recovery... and flashed Dark Esteem ZVD, I ended up not caring for it, so I wanted to go back to stock... at the time, I didnt realize that I could back-up my stock theme but I thought, well that's okay, I will just use the ZVD-Stock Theme so I went with the#2-100% stock theme. Well now since installing this theme, whenever I boot the phone it gives me the "process com.android.systemui stopped unexpectedly" error and then my status bar goes away... anyway to fix this, or even better go back to stock ever?

I tried un-rooting the phone in hopes that it would change it, nothing... even dreadfully did a factory reset... nothing. :(

Its the status bar it looks like so it has to do with the SystemUI.apk

Did you wipe cache and dalvik when going back to the stock theme?

Sorry for the late response guys, I've been at college all day but thank you all for your quick replies!

Try and install a rom. What version is your phone on zvd? Zvb?

I'm on ZVD... I guess I had to be to root the phone from my understanding? I had whatever the newest version was when I started... I've only had the phone for a week now... its my first droid ever.

I did try to flash Orange Crush to the phone last before un-rooting it, I love that CIA boot screen... but I feel like that might've made it worse... I'm still having an issue with the toolbar and now whenever someone calls me, I have no call screen... it just rings on the home screen, but could that possibly have anything to do with the fact that I still have no toolbar?

I did wipe the cache, but I'm not sure what this dalvik is, I've seen it said before but I'm still confused on it... I didn't see an option on RZ Recovery screen to wipe it? I know its a noobish thing to say probably but, this was a rookie mistake and hopefully by the time this is done I will be able to have a better understanding as to how to do this... I will be attempting to re-root the phone sometime soon, but this time with CWM because I've been told that its better than RZ..?

If you want to go back to stock-ish just flash LD-LG. Its stock with all the garbage removed. That will fix your issue ;)

Well right now I'm scared to install ANYTHING lol I'll be honest with you, until I know for sure that something is going to be a 100% fix... I trust your judgement because I've seen your posts around the forums here... but are you 100% on that?

Isn't it because stock is odexed and the theme has deodexed apps and thats why it has errors

Sent from my typewriter.

Yup your right he flashed a theme that I made for Rom #2 and not for the original stock Rom that's the reason he having those problems but all he needs to do is Wat fuzzy said is to flash ld LG and he should be good to go;)then he could flash orangecrush on top of it:)

This.

Nice work Johnny Crapple. ;)

Okay, so just to be 100% on this...

Re-Root my phone... I'm using the AIO Root/Recovery/Unroot ZVC & ZVD, and installing RZ, is that good or would anyone suggest something else?

Then, boot into recovery and flash the LD LG..?

Then, voila... problem solved? I know it sounds silly, but I'm nervous to do much more without knowing absolutely whats going on from this point on... I went blind before and this is where its gotten me... I want to be able to stop bugging you guys with this issue now lol Which, btw... again, I really appreciate everything you guys have done here... I'm a big xbox nerd, so I normally hang out on xbox hardware mod forums, but so far I can definitely say I will be making this my 2nd home.

Also, how can I make sure this doesn't happen again if this solves my issue?

Use CWM not RZ. CWM is much more stable and easier to use. Plus everyone uses it and not CWM.

Flash CWM through ROM manager.

And yes for the rest of your post ;)

Dont worry about problems with your phone. ALWAYS make sure you have recovery installed. That is your life line. If you have that flashed then you can fix 99% of issues.

So moral of the story? NEVER unroot your phone and uninstall recovery unless you are getting rid of it. Cause if you have an issue, your screwed.

Hate to be a pain, but by ROM Manager, you mean the one I get on Market right?

Okay, so next problem... whenever I try to load the ROM into CWM Recovery, upon reboot it shows a little droid guy with an exclamation point... any suggestions?

WOW! It REALLY FREAKING WORKED!! OMG! Thank you ALL so much!! I thought my phone was a freaking goner!!!! I seriously owe you all.. thank you thank you thank you!!!

I wish they would either fix or take that other Esteem option off ROm manager. Ish dont work and causes nothing but problems. I could see a lot of phones getting bricked because of that. People "think" they have recovery, get an issue and cat boot. BOOM they are screwed all because of ROM manager putting up a faulty link. WTF

Well, what really gets me about it is the fact that I installed Esteem 4G CWM, thinking it was the right version for me... then to find out it was just the normal Esteem kinda blew my mind a bit... regardless, its all taken care of... I think the only thing I don't like about this new ROM is my swype went bye bye... but I guess you cant have it all right? lol

I learned my lesson, and that's to come to people who know what the hell they're doing... lol

late reply, sorry lol but i know i got that issue before when making the swipe to clear mod, system ui and framework.jar must be from same rom.. themes usually only have systemui and not the framework file needed so that sure to cause an issue as such..

Thank you! I tried just downloading the .apk with no luck... I thought it was gone forever... I hate typing button by button!

What do you mean tried downloading with no luck? Link don't work? Install don't work? Installed fine but doesn't open?

Remember we can't see what you see. So a little more info when you reply will help fix the problem ;)
