someone link this to vzw so they can see how much business they are losing by not releasing this phone

With only 41 fans ( at last check) don't think they would be the slightest bit interested:rolleyes::D

will be interesting to follow though and see how many fans it picks up

Sad thing is I spend more time lurking around here than I do on FB anymore- My farm had gone to sh*t. ( psst- dont tell anyone I play Farmville k?)

Thanks for the advice Kaleb. Yeah it is REALLY hard to wait. When that guy said they need 15 days to train, and that they haven't gotten the email yet, I was so deflated on excitement. I thought those pictures of the Incredible being on the shipment list or whatever came out over a month ago. What's taking? Does ANYBODY know when it's actually coming out? This is killing me, I wanna show up all my iphone using friends who brag about it nonstop.

Don't worry, we'll tell everyone :p

Joined the fan list on the Facebook, doubt it'll really take off though. When I think of us in this thread, I think of those commercials: "The few, the proud, the Incredible stalkers".

Steven, our phone dream is halfway there! Dual-boot WinMo and Android!

Anyone want to go annoy their VZW rep? Slow day, we need a leak.

I went into the store.

Asked about the the upcoming HTC phone.

He TOLD me i was talking about the Nexus One (OH... I didn't know. I thought I was talking about the nexus one).

Anyways he said, I should go with the Droid.

"I dont like Motorola".

VZW-The droid is as fast if not faster than the nexus one.

"uh?" :Walked out:

I know what you mean. I went into VZW yesterday and asked about the Incredible and he had no idea what I meant. He actually said "oh the nexus one, ya it's from google, not HTC." And I said "no im here to ask about the htc incredible." After a few questions, he finally "gave in" or whatever and seemed to "remember" what the incredible was.....is it some sort of conspiracy or something?

Yes . . . Yes it is. (Que X-files music)

Be patient, the phone will be out soon enough. As of right now, it looks like April is the month.

Unless the phone has screen, keyboard, reception or other problems that caused Verizon to reject the design....

Unless Verizon decides that a new higher-end Android phone will cannibalize their substantial marketing investment the Droid, and chooses not to release it....

Sorry to be a downer, but there's a reason why the absence of an announcement is troublesome -- it means that Verizon hasn't necessarily decided to ever sell this phone. Not every phone that goes into testing makes it to market.

I'd be much, much happier if Verizon announced on Monday that the Incredible's release was delayed for two months, because at least that would mean that they acknowledge the phone and plan to sell it at some point.

It sounds more like the VZN rep didn't want to seem completely clueless so he just did the smile and nod.

I mean, I flat out said the HTC Incredible and he goes "oh you mean the Google Nexus One?".....NO, mean the HT-f**king-C Incredible. I had to pull it off of him like it was a stubborn skin tag. Can anyone prove that it really takes a minimum of 15 days for these guys to learn how to use and sell the product? I would have thought several days, not 15.

I think our defining moment will be april 1st. If this bogo deal ends and we don't hear anything to me thats a bad sign. I can understand not saying anything at ctia but with all the other major carriers announcing phones verizon has to announce something. It may or may not be the incredible, but lets hope it is.

Some new findings about the video capture capabilities of the Incredible.

I found some kind of data dump from the inc, and then I found one for the Eris. I tried to compare the two, and I found something quite interesting.

Incredibe Eris

Now the Eris captures video at 352x288 which matches up good with this data found in the Eris dump

  1. [ro.media.enc.file.format]: [3gp,mp4]
  2. [ro.media.enc.vid.codec]: [m4v,h263]
  3. [ro.media.enc.vid.h263.width]: [176,352]
  4. [ro.media.enc.vid.h263.height]: [144,288]
  5. [ro.media.enc.vid.h263.bps]: [64000,800000]
  6. [ro.media.enc.vid.h263.fps]: [1,30]
  7. [ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.width]: [176,352]
  8. [ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.height]: [144,288]
  9. [ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.bps]: [64000,800000]
  10. [ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.fps]: [1,30]

Now we're all hoping we're gonna get 720p video from the Inc, and this portion found in the Incredible dump makes me much more confident that we will.

  1. ro.media.enc.file.format = 3gp,mp4
  2. ro.media.enc.vid.codec = m4v,h263
  3. ro.media.enc.vid.h263.width = 176,1280
  4. ro.media.enc.vid.h263.height = 144,720
  5. ro.media.enc.vid.h263.bps = 64000,2000000
  6. ro.media.enc.vid.h263.fps = 1,30
  7. ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.width = 176,1280
  8. ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.height = 144,720
  9. ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.bps = 64000,2000000
  10. ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.fps = 1,30

Ok this is my first post but there is a trend I'm noticing here so I figured I would point something out.
Oh yeah, I used to be a VZW CSR...for what its worth

While I dont know about the stores, I would assume they are close to the same. The Call Centers get training for a device at most 24-48 hours before release. When the Palm Pre Plus came out I walked in to work the day it was released and told to go to training. There is no point in asking VZW reps about the device until something is released. If they have any info it will be from here.

Also if they do have info the CSRs should not tell you. Each call is recorded. If they give out info before the release date they are fired. Do you really think they would risk their job just so you can have info on a phone.

While I'm not going to tell long time posters how to do things. But really, calling a Call Center or asking anyone lower than a district rep or a tester will not get you any leaks so why keep trying.

Wait for people who have access to the info to give it to you instead of wasting your time calling people that really dont know any more than you do(and most times know less about the newest devices)

Ok /rant
