Root CWM Rom Manager is working!!!!

So I've been seeing several people that have almost bricked their phone because ROM manager can't get their ish together and FIX the "new" option for CWM.

People are flashing the "new" version and it says that it's flashed when it REALLY ISNT. So if they go to instal a ROM and they brick their phone, they have NO WAY of getting into recovery because ROM Manager is slacking. This is a HUGE problem that I hope they get fixed very soon.



What to do to make sure you flash CWM correctly

Inside ROM manager when you choose the phone model

DO NOT CHOOSE - LGE Esteeem 4G (Check link at the bottom for manual flash)

Choose - LGE Esteem (This will instal 5.0.2.8 I think)



If you want the "new" touch 6.0.1.1 then flash it manually from here.

Ay fuzzy I update mines and I still have cwm touch, but we all know that every phone is different so to be on the caution side do Wat fuzzy said to do and you should be ok;) thanks for the headsup fuzzy.

I've helped 3 people in the past week that flashed the wrong one and almost bricked their phone because it didn't flash.

honestly, your the ONLY one ive seen that's flashed it and it actually stuck. I've seen 1 or 2 others flash it but it didn't stick.

I just got a RM update so im about to go back to 5.0.2.8 and try again through RM and see what happens. :/
 
Yeah! Don't do it... it will lead to mad confusion... thinking you flashed Recovery, but when you try to boot CWM, its not there. Stupid, stupid, stupid, I agree with Fuzzy, they really gotta take that link down.

just tried the NON touch 6.0.1.1. and it DID NOT flash.

WTF is wrong with them? I've contacted them on FB. How else can I contact them cause they answer nobody on FB?

Damn thats crazy bro i also updated my connect and i still have cwm touch :confused: I guess im just that lucky person ;)
 
Emailed koush again last night this time being a little more direct. People shouldn't be paying for something that could end up causing serious issues if it's not checked.

After last nights RM update i tried again to no avail. Just flashing the regular 6.0.1.1 doesn't even work regardless of touch.

If you flashed it through RM and got it to work, i would highly suggest re flashing it manually through my thread. Reason I've seen a lot of people at they flashed it only to have it all of a sudden stop working. Me personally wouldn't want any doubt what so ever.

And I've had zero issues street flashing it manually.


Oh, and the last update or two for RM fixed the no media being in the wrong place.

I flashed the touch manually, then I flashed the other recovery through RM, still works idk
 
I've flashed 3 ROM's unknowingly using the old one with no problems.
Just lucky I guess (I have an S2, if that makes a difference).

Yes, I flashed the touch recovery via your guide, then I went back to RM and clicked on latest recovery and flashed the latest one for the esteem 4g and had no issues. But just in case I just went back and flash the latest 5.x.x.x version for the esteem (w/o the 4g)

Well I've flashed mine and then flashed through rm and it was still there only cause nothing flashed. If you flash 6.0.1.1 through rm from 5.0.2.8 it won't flash but it says it does and it says it's installed.

Obviously the flash file works cause we do it manually and it's fine so i think it's something in their actual flashing progress or their file got corrupt.

I encourage everyone to write a short email saying that lge esteeem 4g in the phone files flashes a corrupt 6.0.

I only hope no one else has issues before seeing these threads. :/
 
thanks dude I was about to flash the newer version I still have the older 5.0.2 i think,I know the app was updated but I've been slacking on updating things.Good thing I've been lazy and saw your post because I was about to update it and grab the new version of L's #2 rom.Again thank you its the only working phone I've got lol.

And also why does it have an option for esteem 4g and regular esteem???

Esteem 4G is the newer one and i guess they dont have the bugs worked out yet.

But I don't know much more than that about this recovery thing.
What I was wondering was, because my CWM says I flashed it to the latest version already, which is 5.0.2.7 now, except for Touch, which I guess is the 6.0** you're talking about, should I be paying attention to this thread, even though I have an S2, because I don't want to brick it, especially if I really have just been lucky so far that I haven't already broke it?
Or would what you guys are talking about be exclusive to your Esteem, for some reason, and just stop listening in on your conversation over here?
