I'd say if the Desire doesn't have it, then the Incredible will also be out of luck. This seems to be more of an OS (Read Sense 2.1) feature than anything to do with hardware, and might be available later with an update.

Hopefully they just left it off the Desire to avoid complaints form users complaining about its accuracy with a European accent. It seems like the Google Voice feature is more accurate with an American Accent.

so i dont get it first tyler was guessin when he thought it would be out now hes tellin us when its gonna be out. how does that work

Unless the phone has screen, keyboard, reception or other problems that caused Verizon to reject the design....

Unless Verizon decides that a new higher-end Android phone will cannibalize their substantial marketing investment the Droid, and chooses not to release it....

Sorry to be a downer, but there's a reason why the absence of an announcement is troublesome -- it means that Verizon hasn't necessarily decided to ever sell this phone. Not every phone that goes into testing makes it to market.

I'd be much, much happier if Verizon announced on Monday that the Incredible's release was delayed for two months, because at least that would mean that they acknowledge the phone and plan to sell it at some point.

I could be completely wrong, but I SINCERELY doubt that VZW would have invested as much time, money, R&D, etc. as they have into a phone that is, by all accounts, as far along in the process as the Incredible is without killing the project before now. True, not every test phone makes it to market, but the fact is that most devices that have made it as far along in the development process as the Incredible has do.

Also, I am not an accountant for VZW, but I would certainly think that they have recouped any investment they had in Droid marketing. A better device is going to make them more money, and they will still continue to sell Droids even if the Incredible is released.

Great, the only thing missing at this point would be the hdmi out, but I can live without that for now. The last few days I've been seriously considering a switch to Sprint for the EVO, but when all was said and done, I've come to the conclusion that I should just stick with great 3G coverage and go with the Incredible. I'll do the 2 year deal to use my NE2. If what has been thrown around on this message board is true, as the primary line I should have an annual upgrade available next April/May and hopefully an LTE phone will be out by then, perhaps a Verizon version of the EVO with AMOLED instead of LCD. Wouldn't that be sweet!

My thoughts on what Verizon will do after the BOGO ends is they will drop the price of the Droid and Eris. Maybe to $149/$99 or $99/$49 and see if they can get a few more sales at the new lower price points from customers who had no need for a second phone they could've got from a BOGO sale, and then later on (Say mid-april) introduce the Incredible as the new high end device for $199

I believe that the mid-april release seems much more feasible at this point, NKT predicted it, and so far more people have corroborated the story, what we should be looking for now are confirmations that this is true....but for me April 17th looks good right now

so a little off topic but since the inc will have sense ui will it have live wallpapers or will that only be on plain android?

They'll include the Live Wallpapers on the Nexus One and probably even an additional "Sense" Live Wallpaper and a Google Maps Live wallpaper that comes with the latest version of Google Maps.

Edit: Probably ... NOTHING is official at this point. :)

does the nexus one have 720p recording?

Nope, and that gave me the idea to go find a N1 dump which I found here.

Even more evidence that the Incredible will be better because the N1 captures at 720x480

ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.width=720
ro.media.enc.hprof.vid.height=480
Edit: Actually looks like it can do 800x480

ro.media.enc.vid.h263.width=176,800
ro.media.enc.vid.h263.height=144,480
ro.media.enc.vid.h263.bps=64000,1000000
ro.media.enc.vid.h263.fps=1,24
ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.width=176,800
ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.height=144,480
ro.media.enc.vid.m4v.bps=64000,2000000

Looks like it changed from 720x480 to 800x480 with this update.

I thought the only that that mattered was the optical lens in side the camera?

From what I understand, it's a combination of the lens along with the processor, but the data dump information which shows the phone's configuration clearly seems to indicate 720p recording for the Incredible.

Can you ask your source for spec info, or pics of the device?

I was given information regarding the specs but no pictures. The nature of the person's job makes his/her information about the release date more reliable than information about the actual specs so I'm not willing to spread information that I'm not very certain of.

Right on. As has been discussed a number of times, it's not the phone that makes VZW money, it's the new contract, or new extension of an old contract. Subs = $$.

Also, let's not forget that the Incredible has passed FCC certification (FCC ID# NM8PB31200). While I suppose that it's not impossible, IMHO it's highly unlikely that the phone would be final enough to be put through the FCC, yet fail in a way that requires a re-design (and thus re-cert) and/or be totally scrapped. Hell, the EVO 4G has been announced, confirmed to NOT be final, and has NOT passed FCC certification yet.

For those who doubt that this phone is real, and is coming to VZW, look back at NKT's posts. He has proven to be highly credible, and he has clearly said that once the phone makes it as far into testing as it was when he got to play with it, the hardware is final, and at most there might be some software tweaking prior to release.

All we need now is an official announcement, and a solid date and we are golden. By the way, I know this has also been discussed, but the Droid was only announced 10 days before it was released, so the fact that VZW has been silent as to the Incredible does not in any way rule out / make unlikely an April release.

You giiivve meeee hooopppe to caarrrryyyy onnnn.......:rolleyes:

ehh, I can wait until april 13-20 I suppose...

That would be fine with me too. My husband is going away on business for a week mid-late April so I can devote all of my attention to my new phone while he's gone :D

After I got my BlackBerry he started referring to it as my boyfriend because I didn't put it down for DAYS.

I dont have any new info but I had to say I love verizon customer service. I switched a month ago from ATT, who wasnt that great. I had a conversation with him about how much he loved amazon and their pricing. And then I told him that im waiting for the htc phone and he immediately asked if it was the incredible and said that he's seen alot of the test ones floating around.
