Root [Sprint/Cricket] I rooted the phone working OK but have few issues

cteq1

Lurker
Phone rooted and working fine but battery life seems to be reduced. But biggest problem I have is I got system upgrade warning and after ignoring it for couple of days, I decided to upgrade. However it failed with
Unable to verify signature... I then manually restart the phone.

So how do I get upgrade? I didnt want to change whole ROM, but need solution n battery life.. Any suggestions?

What is your build number? I had the same problem but I just did the updates with zip files from the SD card.

have you looked into updating to the blazer rom? its the LG8 version and should make the phone stop asking to update. it did for me anyway

If you want to update to LG8, you'll need to restore back to stock LEN/LF9 using ODIN. Afterward, you'll run a factory restore from stock recovery and once you boot up - allow the updates to install all the way up to LG8. After that is completed, you can re-root and thus flash custom recovery, etc..

That sounds like a pain in the ass... There are a bevy of LG8 based roms over on xda man, ive even posted a couple in this forum. Be my guest to go thru that long drawn out process to simply achieve the same result that flashing one of many roms that are available for rooted SG3s, but one of the two suggested methods is far less time consuming and i havent heard of anyone actually trying the unroot/reroot process to merely get LG8 and stop the pop up telling you that your android version needs updating.
