***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

No offense, but this is too good to be true. Can we get more info, a way to verify, etc?

wow 2.6..i didnt even know that existed were just now getting 1.0..the rumored htc scorpion/olympian is suppose to have a 1.5ghz and that phone prob wont be coming out till fall or later this yr..but if that happens to be true it would be the best phone hands down..

I'm gonna have to disagree with you Norril. I would not say Verizon dropped the ball at all. Sure, we are all seriously let down with their absence at CTIA, but I believe it was for the better.

Sprint took the preemtpive strike and released the Evo 4G. What exactly did you want VZ to compete with.....the Incredible? You wanted them to take on the 4.3", dual-camera behemoth with a 3.7", single-camera, suped-up Eris? Talk about being on the losing end of a pissing contest. I can just imagine the articles... "Went to CTIA and all I got from VZ was this lousy phone".

Verizon is in a better position than Sprint and does not have to pre-announce a device almost a quarter before its release in the hopes of luring new customers. Now VZ gets to sit back and release the phone on their own terms without losing a head-to-head with Sprint's flagship.

VZ's Shadow will take on the Evo 4G, and by the time the Incredible comes out, there shouldnt be much wait for the Shadow. I'll still be buying the Incredible as I'm done waiting and so long as it can provide the same experience as my Droid, which I'm sure it will exceed, I'll be happy.
 
does anyone know the rumored specs for the shadow? and also do u guys think that maybe there trying to do a shadow/incredible combo like they did for the droid/eris..the incredible being the lower end phone.. i would really hate that but who knows

Has to be. Plus no way on the name imagio? Could see it as the Eris2 before that IMHO

Well I hope it's named something other than "Incredible." I can imagine the glares I'd get when someone asks me what kind it is and I say "Incredible."

Oh and on the Nexus one showing up on the Google site, I'm not entirely convinced it's not just a photoshop but when this supposedly happened before with the initial t-mo release, it showed up briefly on Dec 30th, 6 days before the Jan 5 release. So if this really happened it definitely points to a Verizon release later this week.

Personally I'm holding out for an Incredible, trying REALLY hard to not go check out the Shadow, otherwise I'll probably end up waiting even longer. Just have to keep reminding myself there will always be something better coming, and the Incredible is a good one to take the leap on.

Not throwing a shot with this, but haha @ the 2.6 processor. No way that's possible.

And thanks for everyone who has been digging relentlessly. You have been satisfying my INCREDIBLE thirst! (I know, lame.) I am confident this phone will be released mid-April.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and to CrustyJuggler, I believe that's from Hot Fuzz. Could be mistaken though!

So its going to more than double the speed of anything else on the market and they didnt feel like advertising it at CTIA? Sorry, but i feel like i have to question the authenticity of these claims. Is it possible he was looking at the specs of a prototype not scheduled for release until 2012? Maybe the Imagio 2?
 
Sorry off topic but speaking of movies...Repo Men was SICK!.... literally but good at the same time...i recommend you guys watch it!

I thought all rumors pertaining to the Shadow have been GSM. I think the Incredible doesn't have to compete against the EVO 4G head-to-head, but be provided as an alternative to the Nexus One.
 
Ok was sitting here drinking some Jagermeister and had a thought, Why would they put 8 gig of movinand on top of the 512-1gig of Rom....I mean how many apps are you going to install 300 Tops more like under 100 and 300 could be done with 512meg. Plus the Incredible possibly coming with apps on the MicroSd So why 8 GIg of movinand......If you wanted to record 720p with the camera they would not be able to guarantee that you bought a decent microsd. With interface speeds of up to 52 MB per second wouldnt that satisfy the needs for 720p recording.... The leaked specs indicated that the camera was capable of 720p, snapdragon 1 gig processor is enough power and the 8 gig of movnand would provide the write speed and temp storage.
I think I need to drink Jagermeister more often.....

UPDATE

Sorry guys it was miscommunication he was talking screen size and its 3.6 Sorry no 2.6 ghz processer. But hey he said this will by far exceed any phone at anywhere. I'm still fan of stock Android so I am still waiting for nexus being that's a Google Phone it will receive all the goodies first. But will see what incredible/imagio has to offer
