Root rooting without internet ie manual root?

So I don't see a link up for rooting manually. The old-school way with unrevoked/revolution. What gives? I don't have cable or DSL. Fiber optics are being muscled out. I would do lazy panda but I need ubuntu apparantley. Could someone point me in the right direction?

You need access to a PC and an internet connection to download the required files.

HTC dev unlock requires an active internet connection. Lazypanda and zedomax do not

Ubuntu is highly recommended for lazypanda, because thats required for the unbrick tool.

Ok, well I don't have internet to use the superquick rooting tool. I will have to use zeedomax then.

So I got the zedomax toolkit. Plugged in and ran it. Now it just says daemon started successfully

Seriously you guys...need help. I gave my old EVO to my mom and need the net to unroot!

I need help. I don't think it worked at all. My software hasn't been updated past 1.161.31 710zod so it should have. Haven't tried to load recovery, but it just said that it started daemon. No root succes or welcome to the matrix. Nothing. So I don't really know what to do at this point. I don't have ubuntu or a real resource to get it for lazy panda.

Opps 1.13.651 71ord

Zedo wont give you a recovery, itll just give you system wide root permissions.

I don't recognize that software. Whats your hboot

Ugh...I'll load it up again. Got the triangle exclamation mark for the moment

That is very good news. However, zedomax should be working without issues. are you sure you have the right drivers?

Welli am screwed. I have vista sp1, it views the inf as unable to perform or be usable in the way I'm trying to. Right click install.

do you have a laptop with wifi? If you are able go to a fast food joint most have free wifi dl the ubuntu and then follow the rest of the directions. You could use your phone instead of a laptop. If you have a friend with internet see if they will dl ubuntu for you give them a few bucks for the cd and their time. All is not lost anyways.

I have a desktop. The problem is it isn't working with the sync drivers, it won't use the new drivers, and the ones that did work didn't install right. Most of my friends are an hour or more away. I could redownload them on ly phone over and over but vista will still behave this way.

This is going to sound very dumb, but the guide didn't say anything about it. Should my phone be on or off when I run the .bat?

Any ideas guys? I could use a hand. I don't really want to try lazy panda unless ubuntu is tiny or bootable as like a wine type thing in windows.

ubuntu is bootable and it is not necessary to install you can run it live from the cd (would recommend usb as its faster)

Finally got unbuntu, but lazy panda says I need a semi root or s-off to use its total rooting method. Zedomax won't do a damn thing. Well unless its supposed to take several hours

Lazy panda is giving me a similar error. Old bamboo detected, connect device and instal drivers, I have several times. I've tried the files they provide, HTC sync then uninstalling sync, reboot, no reboot. This is looking pretty bleak.

Nope, should be done in less than a minute.

I'd still say its a driver issue. Can you use a different computer?
