Swype avail for Eris

wow. I really like this feature! i'm way faster and more accurate now. solves all the lag issues for sure and looks cool when i'm texting or typing something.
 
so i downloaded swype a while back and now it says my trial is up. I was not aware i downloaded a trial version. So do i need to download it again every time my trial is up?

Try the lite version. Go to the first post. I put the link there. This one shouldnt have an expiration date. So you should be good to go.

I can type everything else, so I don't think it is my technique.

Do the tutorial, go from the I right to the space bar. The first time I used swype was on 1.5, didn't like it, did the leak, just re installed it last night. If you trust the software its amazing.

Yep saw the commercial last night. Decided today to read this thread and downloaded swype lite today. Finally got it working. Very easy if you follow the directions on page one. For some reason the directions were not registering at first with my brain, ie brain fart. On 2.1 v2 and works great! Thanks a bunch.
 
installed last night and I'm wondering to myself, why did i wait so long to get swype? this makes texting fun! and voice txting works great still for when i'm driving...couldn't be more happy with it

(running newest 2.1 leak)
 
Yep, it makes texting fun. But I have a hell of a time swyping times in like 4:30, 8:00, etc. It always screws it up by adding a space or some other annoying quirk. Hopefully they'll correct it with the paid version. Anybody know how much it's going to cost???
 
first off...I am still on 1.5...I am waiting for OTA...and as far as butt and ass, you start at the b go to the u then the t and do a swirly on the t...for ass start at the a go to the s and do a swirly there

You can single-tap words letter-by-letter, just like with the stock KB. When you do, Swype adds them to its dictionary.

EDIT: That is, if you meant words not in the dictionary, but after re-reading, I think you meant what tgulch22 was talking about. Yeah, in that case, swirling over a letter repeats it.
 
Has anyone figured out a difference between Swype Lite (version 1.16, about 1.21MB) and Swype "Final" or "Beta for HVGA" or "Trial" (also version 1.16, but over 5MB)? Besides the huge difference in file size, is there any other difference? Earlier in this thread someone mentioned they had some trouble tapping single letters in Lite but not in Beta, but that's the only mention I could find of any difference.

just single tap your numbers and punctuation on the sym keyboard.
