Root NFC not compatible with my device

Lurker
I have found that when running google wallet, it says not compatible with this device.

but would it still work? I tried using it at Walgreens earlier and it wouldn't even scan it, so not sure.

Anyone with a rooted Elite used Wallet with no problems?

That is just a security warning because if someone gets their hands on your phone it is possible for them to get your Wallet PIN if your phone is rooted. Wallet will still work on your phone.

Yeah as Darkone said it'll work but Google won't support you. If someone gets your phone and because you are rooted is able to bypass pin on wallet to use it, Google will not back you up to recover stolen $$$.

Has anybody attempted to decompile the wallet .apk, remove the part about root, then recompile it? If you have let us know please.

I noticed this too after rooting. Major bummer if this is affected permanently. Is there a way to un-root if needed?

Yes ,you have to flash the stock tot file to return to stock. This uses same process as jcase's root method less the last few step which push root files.

I've been rooted since first root was released and I use google wallet a few times a week and never had any issues

So you're saying you're still able to use the Wallet even after root? That would be perfect.

I just rooted my phone with ZV5 and it still works but my error says *Unsupported Device. Learn More*

Yea, that's normal. It means Google will not take any responsibilty if your account gets hacked after losing your device or using some other app which hacks your account/PIN number. This is possible on a rooted device.

You should probably read up on Google Wallet issues a little bit. It's been discussed in this forum before. IIRC, it's important to remember to reset your Wallet within the Google Wallet app's settings before performing a factory reset or clearing data on the Wallet app in Android Settings so that you don't permanently brick the secure element in your phone.

I know all about that, first thing I did was reset google wallet before I did a factory restore.
