***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

This is my prediction on how this will all go down. Keep in mind this is only based on rumors I have read here, no fact, just speculation.

This week Verizon will start to tease an announcement of the incredible for the week of the 5th. The phone will be announced the week of the 5th probably mid to late week. The phone will come out around the 15th.

Obviously I hope I am wrong and it comes out sooner, but I get the feeling that it won't.

On a side note, I feel the Iphone is rubbish compared to the new Android phones coming out. I for one could care less if the iphone comes out on VZ.
 
From what I have heard (people in the know... people we know...) there isn't any real issues with the Incredible. I think it IS finalized and ready to go.

I think a big reason for the perceived delay in announcing/launching is the BOGO. They wanna sell some older phone stock off to make room.

PLUS, we THINK it is delayed... Maybe VZW never really planned on announcing/launching at CTIA. They (VZW) wants to move to the beat of their own drum and will announce/release it on their own terms. It will make more noise and a bigger splash that way.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Spread out the VZW iphone from the incredible or more likely, ATT's iphone gets to come out first so they still have a slight advantage. Then VZW announces that their first 4G phone will be the 4G iphone and it will be available at Christmas.

This month is looking good for our incredible, though.
 
quick question...With the most of the new/future smartphones being touted ro rumored as having the front-facing cameras, HD recording capabilities, and other simliar advanced features, has the Incredible lose some of its princess cut-like brilliance before even being confirmed or announced?

So what exactly should they say? Tell you it'll be released on a particular date, and if there are issues/delays, then they change the date. Then maybe the date slips again and now you have all of us complaining that they keep missing the date. If they announce the hardware, what if an issue comes up and they have to change something. Then everyone is all pissy about, "well you originally said it would ship with xyz!". ;)

As much as I'm also anxiously awaiting the arrival of the phone, since the Passion thread days, I'd rather they not make a "promise they can't keep" to us. Hell it might even be that Android 2.1 has a few more bugs to work out with SenseUI or something. It keeps getting delayed on the Droid too. I work in software QA and know that there are always issues that are found at the last minute that need to be addressed. Nothing worse then watching a release date slip time and again when it's much easier to just not promise a date and release it when it's ready.

True.. To be honest.. I don't see Apple release 2 different iphones in the same year and at different times. Doesn't seem like them. I wouldn't be surprised if an LTE iPhone (VZW capable) didn't show up until summer 2011. Makes more sense... Release an upgraded version/design this year and next year keep the design the same, just add an LTE chip and maybe an updated OS and some features.

A CDMA only iPhone at this point is useless with LTE closing in so fast.

BUT NONE OF THAT MATTERS!!!!

The incredible is coming hard and fast (no "that's what she said" jokes :cool: :D) and we should see it this month for sure!

Brother, I feel your pain.:( It seems disappointment has become all too common with VZ's phone selection and they don't seem to be tuned in to the will of their customers. This isn't politics but it operates much the same way. When a politician gets out of touch with his/her constituency, they are usually voted out of office. If VZ continues to ignore the wants of their customer base folks will start voting with their money and going elsewhere. As technology advances, other networks will only get better. Resting on coverage alone is a very short sighted approach to a long term business plan. I've seen it so many times in the consumer product goods business. A #1 selling item in retailers uses their status as the #1 selling item to drive sales. All the while the competition is gunning for that top spot being innovative, pricing aggresively and putting out a quality product. While #1 is resting on their morals, #4 is now #2 and not far behind. Reacting at this stage of the game is usually too late as consumer momentum has been established. I'm begging VZW to be proactive for your customer's sake as well as your own.

Dang it, there went the other $0.01. Now I'm broke.:D

No one wants to look at my ugly mug anyway, so a front facing screen for me is like giving a rhino wings....might look good, but he ain't flying anywhere.

So is resting on a device. Ahhhh bash ATT! Haha :D, that's why VZW needs to ball up their phone line and then they will be killin' it. Network and phones!!

I'd like to start a petition to earn the release of our captured brother Kappy. His voice is too beneficial to be silenced and manipulated. I'm conviced that he has been thoroughly rehabilitated and is no longer to theat to the posting society. He's ready to rejoin this discussion in it's full capacity.
