I recently tried both GoSMSPro and Handcent on my Virgin Optimus V, and although I am able to send group texts to iPhone friends, I still am not able to receive them from iPhones. So when they reply to my group texts, I am not able to see their replies. They register as a received text, but they are empty.
I am missing important information from my family, friends, and professional contacts, and this makes me feel like an outcast, which is the wrong result from a company that is supposed to provide connectivity. I am considering switching to iPhone and a service that supports iPhone.

I really want a Samsung Galaxy S3 but I won't buy it until I can receive group texts from my friends with iPhones...we just use it way to much. I'm currently using a Windows phone from 2010 and it does group texts from iPhones exactly the same way as IOS.
If it works on Windows, why can't it work on Android??? Sadly I will end up with the iPhone 5 over this issue when I really want an S3

I use the GoSmsPro and am able to group text with iphone users.
I tried it with my wife, daughter and sons' Iphones...(yeah, I'm the only Android user in my house
) and it works for me. There is an option in GoSmsPro to enable that function.I'm not having the receiving issue like mcbrems is having (3 or 4 posts up from mine) but his post was back in June. Perhaps they fixed it since then.
yeah no issues with go sms as well. i can send a group text with no problems. it should be the same with GS3. i would go ahead and get it. no need to get the Iphoney 5. but that is up to you.
