, that what is being installed in your device was not intended to be installed until it was finished; it is a leak of a product that is still being worked on, no matter what is being said by some that it is the OTA, it is not. So where did you get an "HTC Droid?"

yeah, I was wondering the same thing!![]()

Thanks for that. Slightly better link here:
Verizon begins Android 2.1 update rollout for Motorola Droid -- Engadget
By the way, good on ya for posting that in the right thread instead of starting a new one.
So does anyone know if the Eris OTA goes out through the same channel as the Droid? If so, I guess at least a week before we could possibly see something![]()
Yep, looks like the Droid is on its way to 2.1 land.
Wrong Droid, but they did meet the Q1 promise for someone.
Yep ... I'd say it's very unlikely that the Eris will get an upgrade until they're through with the Droid.
But the good thing is -- it seems pretty certain that the OTA process was the main thing that was holding these upgrades up. If they've finally got that figured out, it's a good omen for the Eris.

I just hope that, whenever it comes, they've worked out all the bugs that have been reported in these forums. It doesn't really sound like a whole lot of work to do.

No software is completely bug-free.
And you have to remember that many (probably most) of the issues being reported probably aren't the fault of the OS ... they're botched installs, or buggy apps, or someone suddenly noticing something that's been there all along, and deciding to blame it on the OS.

I agree. Being that the MOTO Droid update was postponed due to OTA issues, I think that the Eris will get its update next week, maybe even the week after at the latest.
