so i have rooted my evo once before but the screen broke and sprint gave me a new one but as i am rooting this time it gave me the screen with the red triangle and you wrote don't reboot what am i to do help please

I would say, pay no nevermind to the phone and continue with the commands, step 11 or 12 that you are currently on...adb should still work.

Hi there!
I bought an htc evo 4g that had a bad esn, I didn't know until I switch the phone into recovery mode and saw locked oow at the top along with s-on. I am new at this and I've tried every method out there to get the locked oow off my screen as well as the s-off. I came across CapThrowback method on how to do that but.. Knowing me, I'm a newbie at this and have no clue what so ever on how to hboot, recovery and/or wimax anything..I even tried the android flasher 2.2.0.5 and giving me errors saying remote not allowed and other errors aswell.
Can anyone help me out here..I'm a pretty fast learner. just point to me where I need to go in order to get this freaking locked oow off my phone.

can not find phone
do you have usb debugging turned on? do you have it set to charge only? do you have htc sync installed?

i did every step no i did not reboot it once i set it for
adb shell /data/local/tacoroot.sh --root
it went to the red triangle i did all the steps but it keeps saying error: device not found
try and type:
adb devices
and let us know what spits out.

you can also skip to step 13 and do the undo command and start over.

ok and you had no issues with the previous commands for taco root? this is just odd. did you disconnect the cable from the phone since you started taco root?

Try just typing adb shell and then hit "enter"...do you get the # sign?
