So I went into a very small Verizon store today and there was all of two people working inside because my phone conveniently broke on me. So then he told me that I due for an upgrade and I asked him about any new HTC phones. So he looks on his system and runs down the list of HTC phones on all the networks till he gets to the Incredible and I told him that this is the one that I heard about (very casually) but then he says I dont think thats for Verizon though, he pauses and then says YES sorry about that it is but he said he knew nothing about it.

I was thinking of upgrading for a month to the Droid, but a) what if the "Axis" doesn't come out for over a month? and B) It seems a bit sleazy, to me, to buy something when I know I'm just going to return it. Hmm....

I was going to do the same thing. Here is a link to the VZW return policy page:

Return Policy - Verizon Wireless

I read the whole page twice. The worst thing that can happen is you will have to pay the restock fee. Or even worse if you damage it, you own it for good, and when the Incredible comes out you will have to pay full price.

Seriously guys/gals, the Wikipedia page carries no significance whatsoever, and is probably people on this forum messing around (do you remember the lovely group of people who were editing the tags?). There is no way in hell that VZW or HTC would make a Wikipedia page on a phone they have not officially announced. Stop reading so much into it. I can go and edit that page, with a username "Verizonwireless" and put "the phone will be named HTC LOL."

Edit: To the people that are editing, you MAY want to make a username because your IP address is being shown to everyone that looks at that site. And there are some things certain people can do with that IP that you may not want revealed to strangers. Just sayin'

I realize that VZW/HTC likely would never actually create the Wikipedia page, I just thought the editing was interesting. I don't know if there would be any reason VZW would want to change the name like that. I doubt it, but just figured I'd point it out in case anyone could come up with something logical.

If there is one of us adding info to the wikipedia page, there needs to be a HTC Meatballs one too...haha, i bet HTC will be all Noooooo we dont have a phone called meatballsss.....like RAAAAAAAANDY

Hi guys, I'm new here.

I am close to my two year verizon phone plan where I can choose a new phone. My current phone is a Samsung Flipshot and this is I think the first time I will be able to pick a smart phone :D. I was originally going to get the android possibly this weekend..... but then I heard about the Incredible. I think I'm going to wait with the rest of you for the incredible.

How are HTC's virtual keyboards? I'm a little worried about not having a physical keyboard, but then again the droid's looks pretty bad anyways.

<--------------- New avatar reflects reality (and my entering a state of depression).

i wouldnt buy anything from this store, if the verizon guy is looking in the verizon system and sees a phone in there, what in the world would make him think its NOT for verizon?

I am curious what the SAR rating on the Incredible will be. The Eris is listed at 1.19 at the head and .78 at the body, while the Nexus One is listed at .823 at the head and 1.39 at the body. I assume it will be similar to the N1, but the N1 has a slightly larger battery than the Inc will have. I guess we will have to wait until it is released to find out, unless the FCC listing has it.

So for what I understand the incredible will have an amoled screen, and everyone is talking about how bad it is in daylight. My question is how will this screen compare to the current iPhone screen in daylight? Will it be worse or the same or dare I say it better?

Ok folks, as I have said I was with VZW for 4 years until last month as a sales rep. I have contacted retail reps/friends in 4 retail stores in this market (on their personal phones so they could speak honestly) and was told by all 4 colleagues that they have received ZERO information about the Incredible, ZERO devices/dummies are in the stores, they have not been asked to take an online training on the device yet, and they have received ZERO accessories for the device.

The only thing any of them knew about the Incredible they have gleaned from the Net.

I am POSITIVE I was given the truth, at least as far as what is happening in my former market. Not saying things cant change quickly, but this is the status as of now.

I would say any manager or rep that acts fishy about the device simply doesn't know anything about it, unless they read this forum, and they act nervous only because they know they will receive a write-up should they even discuss new devices hypothetically.

Me and one of my former colleagues are both CRAVING this device as much as any of you. I initially held off on the Moto Droid because of the N1, but I wont be satisfied now until I have the Incredible. Unfortunately, a retail store is not where we can gain any intelligence at this time. :(

It was probably a Kiosk store that might have multiple carriers . . . ?

Just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt.

How are HTC's virtual keyboards? I'm a little worried about not having a physical keyboard, but then again the droid's looks pretty bad anyways.

IMHO, ALL the smartphone onscreen keyboards are too small when the phone is held in portrait orientation. But a lot of them allow you to turn the phone to a landscape orientation and then the keyboard becomes wider and the keys expand. Unfortunately, this feature is sometimes not available for certain applications or functions on some phones. For example, the BlackBerry Storm does not do a landscape keyboard for the phone. So if you are in the phone app and you need to search for a contact, you're stuck with using little tiny keys.

The main advantage I see with the Android (and iPhone) on-screen keyboards is at least they preview what key you've pressed, so at least you can correct your typing quickly--unlike the Storm.

I have OED (Obsessive Editor's Disease) and all the constant misspelling so painful--I am really REALLY looking forward to a more user-friendly typing experience.
