I bought an Eris to tide me over (hopefully) until the Incredible is released. I had an EnV and I was VERY attached to my keyboard. The first few days I had the Eris, I wanted to return it and/or throw it against the wall just because of the virtual keyboard. I'm a writer, and I didn't want the stupid phone telling me what to type! I don't need a computer to edit for me either. But, much to my chagrin, no one really appreciates proper spelling, grammar, and capitalization in text messages anyway. Moving on!

Now, however, I love the virtual keyboard. I actually use it in portrait mode most of the time, which is a surprise to me. I find it a bit awkward to type in landscape mode on my Eris. They virtual keyboard seems overly sensitive and the trackball acts like it's on crack.

I did figure out that part of the problem was having fake nails on . . . not an issue for most people I'd guess though. :o

anyone else see the ad on the testman? When you click 3g smartphones it said take an extra $20 off in savings... I tried to go back and take a screen pic and it won't pop back up.

No it happens on Chrome too when am image is too large- when the image gets fixed it reverts back to normal.

Chrome has nothing to do with it. He's resized it by now. The only was to avoid side scrolling is having a very high resolution screen. Well, there probably is a plugin for firefox that resizes any image at a certain size to smaller. ;)

No i feel ya, when i had my iPhone 3G i used the portrait mode for typing more than the landscape. I was actually kind of better at portrait mode also, idk why but maybe because it was easier to reach each letter since htey were somewhat close together.

VZW GIVE ME AN ANDROID PHONE!!!

Someone a few pages back said it should be called the Axis because Verizon was being evil by making us wait for the Incredible. Then later someone said that an employee called it that the other day. Take it with a grain of salt. All signs still point to the Incredible name.

From what I recall, no one called it that or said anything about it until the Wiki article came up.
 
I'm going to throw up all over the person sitting beside me if I don't get off this roller coaster soon.

The original iPhone really made me shy away from virtual keyboards. The HTC virtual keyboard is much better, especially in landscape mode. The virtual keys are spaced similar to what I was used to on my EnV physical keyboard but I still use the Eris in portrait 90% of the time . . . go figure.

I'm wondering if the Incredible keyboard will be the same or if they will have tweaked it in some way. The keyboard is one of the critical features for me. (Okay, besides the The Schwartz app so I can pretend my phone is a light saber in Wendy's and totally embarrass my daughter.)

Yes but that all was said in reference to the wiki. Who is making the wiki and where did THEY get that info? Inquiring minds want to know
