Random Thought Thread

If you get caught for this then we never met and androidforums doesn't exist >_> lol

I don't thimk there's anapple store in GA.

TIL ofthedamned is a secret apple fangril and takes detailed notes of the store locations.
;)

I only kid you.... on an unrelated note, vampires need to be invited in right >.> <.< :D

But in all seriousness, that would be pretty funny. You could probably even get away with doing it 2 or 3 times.

I think we need to organize an event :) maybe even an annual thing? If we got this going at a few locations, even an autonomous *cough* tip to local news channels, saying apple is doing some sort of amazing iPhone event, this could be pretty good.

LOL

I just lived in that area for so long I still have a mental layout of the building and surrounding stores. The ridiculous line when the iPad came out is what sticks in my mind more than anything.

No, there is no invite required as it is not a residence.

Ahhh, I see.

I was actually talking about a residence, but that wasn't clear in my post... I was expecting a 'Watch your neck,' post ;) :D

So OTD, what's your take on the whole Twilight thing? And have you ever seen Let the Right One In?

My take? You may get more than you bargained for on that subject.

Real vampires don't sparkle. End of story. ;) I don't get the whole teen angst and brooding thing. I don't know an vampires that site around brooding all day or trying to torture themselves all day and night wanting something. The thing I never understood (never read the books or watched the movies) is why is a 100 year old guy going to high school or acting like a high school kid. He may have been turned as a teenager, but it doesn't mean he needs to act like one. Mentally you grow and age even if your body doesn't. The whole concept throws me and the books become silly.

I think that people have a hard time writing what they don't truly understand. When you don't know what it is like to live over 100 years then you have no idea how someone would behave after living that long. The mental aspect isn't something that is easy to grasp. When you try to make someone act their age based on appearance then you have lost the fight. Think about the people you've met in your life. Was there ever anyone that was just too mature for their age or didn't seem like they acted their age? That is more of an accurate depiction of what I am talking about.

Then again, movies and books don't get it right unless they are written by those that have experience. Without the experience, how can you have accuracy? Research on the subject is flawed because of the myth and folklore surrounding the subject. People still think stakes are a good idea or that we go out hunting and killing people.

As far as Let the Right One In I want to see it. I rented it, but the disc was scratched. Maybe another time.

A random thought that popped in my head (and I say random cuz though it's something I'm working on, it popped in my head while watching "Friends")

Why am I spending the time to vector my phone model in Illustrator... I could do a better job in Photoshop...

If it's not been created yet, I'm seriously considering it.

I share your EXACT view about those books/movies. Couldn't have said it better if i tried...
and i only shortened the quote so it wouldn't take up space by posting it twice

Don't get me wrong, I'm not coming down on people for liking them. There is a huge fan base for some reason and I wouldn't try to convince someone to dislike it anymore than I would a Harry Potter fan.

As an Undead American I can say that Twilight along with True Blood have brought about the social acceptance that many have looked for. While some may be upset that vampires are "less scary" because of it, you won't ever hear me complain about that. It makes not living much easier.

To be fair, I don't watch or read much on the subject. It is like watching a movie that revolves around your current job. If it is filled with inaccuracies then the whole experience is just irritating and you spend all your time saying, "That isn't right."

You know, I share a lot of the same feelings on Twilight. And that's a good point about the kid being 100's of years old and acting like a child.... I never gave that any thought, I try to not think of twilight. ;)

As for Let the Right One In, it's my favorite vampire movie, but I'd hate to talk it up and then have you not like it. So if ya get around to it - great - if not, then well, great too.

;) :D

Let The Right One In was a really well done movie, in my opinion. It's on Netflix, as well, OTD. So if you have that, I would suggest it there.

I drink too much coffee. I think I've had 8 or 9 cups so far.

Back in my device forums, somebody was a total jerk. I felt bad for who it affected. If that were my first experience here, I probably wouldn't be here still.

Back to borderlands!!! :D
