Help gnex camera + JB = yuck?

so we just got JB pushed to our phone up here in Canada (telus) and for some reason the camera is now acting strangely. before the update (ICS) the camera took instant pics very fast, one after another. we really liked that.

now it takes a good 1-1.5 secs to the camera to take a pic and release the cam for another shot.

any ideas why this might be so? any way i can go back to the previous setup? is this an issue with the settings and not JB related???

I haven't noticed that issue. The onscreen UI seems a little slower, as it does that little animation thing when you take a pic, but I think you can still hit the trigger as fast as you can.
 
you can still take shots back to back but no where near as quickly as you could before. before i could take more then 1 shot per second, basically as fast as i could hit the button. now the cam takes a sec to focus or something and then the focus box pulls back and it snaps the shot. must be an auto setting that is being triggered by something in the environment where i'm taking the photo but im not sure :(

Yeah, I see what you mean. It's a tick less than two shot per second with me now. Hmmm.... I do notice the focus is better, maybe that is the tradeoff.
 
OK, I putzed around some more. If you go to video and tap the screen while recording it will grab a photo of the frame. Maybe that will allow the super fast photos as before
 
If you manually focus the camera by tapping the screen, then it will let you take a rapid succession of shots. If you let it autofocus it slows the process way down. I was able to get off about 4 shots in a second. I agree its slower than before, but it seems like the focus is better. I guess the question is would you prefer 4 focused shots or 7 blurry shots?

4 focused shots hands down.
