What do you mean the popup? The popup to say there is an update waiting? Go to settings>about phone>system updates to get it back

Try dialing the "checkin" in your phone app.

Type *#*#2432546#*#* exactly as I put there and you should get a checkin status in your notification bar and hopefully the popup window.

I'm not sure there will be any real benefit to this software upgrade because everything it is giving is already available like supporting Yahoo which we have had, pinch to zoom=Dolphin Browser or Picsay gave us this, speech to text for every text box is cool, and the 3D update "there's an app for that".

By the way this was posted at droidforums that the current instructions arent the same anymore and it will not go to the second screen where it says restart and install so you might need to do what they said on their forums

"By the way, when it reboots to install the update, pull the battery.

Take out the micro sd and pull the update.zip from it. "

Well I guess your only hope is too reboot the phone, maybe you'll still have 2.0.1, try to find it in astro and go from their....anyways this is horrible news as we are already losing update.zips by the minute b/c the procedures are all wrong on the sticky :(

Go to settings>about phone>system updates

See if its mentioned there. If you got the notification and cleared it, then it should most certainly be listed there.

Ok I rebooted my phone and the popup is here again, but everyone is now saying that when I click Install Now it's gonna reboot my phone and I won't be able to post it.

OK If you have the popup, then you need to message me on google talk I can walk you through this in person, but you need to message me to cut down on the clutter. Check your PM's for the info.

Well, click install now, pull the battery, take the sdcard out, put it back and reboot and since you don't have \) , mount it and see if their is an update.zip file

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT reboot after reinserting the SD card, reboot the phone, if the update.zip is on the SD card, it should initiate the update on boot.

so reboot the phone with the sd card out and when it is on you can put the sd card in the phone and mount it/// or put it in an old phone or a friends phone or anything but the droid (mp3 player) and copy it over
