what exactly are you trying to do? unroot? what is your hboot?
so you can get into recovery. when you are in the bootloader the phone just stays at the htc evo white screen, correct? what did you do to the phone to get it in this state?

My hboot is 2.18.0001
When I go to recovery the phone goes to the white screen and freezs so I dont know what the recovery is.

Did you unlock the phone with the HTCdev method?
Were you trying to root the phone following the guide?
o.k...you should be unlocked then.
the next step is to install a recovery, which you did?
And if you did, it is giving you an error?
that looks like a file to UN-root.
are you trying to ROOT or UN-root?
I'm a little confused here...

Go to this guide

Click on "show" of the htcdev method.
Skip the htcdev method as you have done that.
Go to step 2--"How to get recovery"
Then go to step 3--"flash the su file or flash a rom"
