Root [CDMA] Upgrading SDCard

My 32gb sdcard arrives today, and I want to be sure installation goes smoothly (i.e. no read errors, etc.). Right now I have a 16gb card I upgraded to almost a year ago, and installation was pretty easy then; I didn't format the card or do anything special. Does anybody have any suggestions and such regarding installation? I doubt it matters that the phone is rooted, so I won't worry about that part of the equation.

I can't say for sure but I never did anything special to my 32gb when I got it... I just copied everything from my 8 right over and put the 32 in my phone.. Been at least over a year and never had one problem with it...

Nope transfer all your info from 16 GB card to your pc for safe keeping. Then do the same with all that info and put it on your new 32 GB card and you should be good to go

Kinda the same question, I have a rooted EVO 3d and I have a 32gb sd card I'd like to put in it so I can use the extra space to run sd booster and speed up my phone, was wondering if I can just switch the cards right out or will that cause my phone to mess up and lose all of my root stuff?

NP, simply transfer your SD card data currently to your PC, then take the new SD 32 GB card and format, then transfer the info from your old SD card, and insert back into your phone, your good to go, always keep a back up of the SD card on your PC for safe keeping.

only thing to add,is at least check the card format prior to transfering any data to it. it must be FAT32 if you ever need to install anything from hboot. if you find it to be just FAT,or something else,go ahead and reformat prior to transfering.

i personally always do a full format of a new SD to FAT 32 in the PC before even sticking it in the phone :smokingsomb:

Depending what recovery you use you can format and partition it I recommend 4ext recovery. Anyone using a 64gb card have any problems on a 3vo and what card would you recommend that I should get it
