Root Taco Root

yeah taco root should work for your phone and did work, actually. not sure why going this route trying to downgrade you misc partition is not working.

like i said earlier you might want to give the captain's method a try.

is there a difference between the two methods like will there be a water mark or something???

both methods are similar. the capt's method uses HTCdev to gain root which then allows you to downgrade the misc partition. the other methods uses taco root to gain root so that you can downgrade the misc partition. they are similar but for some reason i have seen a few who had trouble going the taco root route, but had no issue using the captn's method. both even uses the similar files. just a thought, up to you.

Just so I'm clear here....to root a phone...
either:
1. htc dev method to unlock bootloader, then Capt method to downgrade, then unrevoked or revolutionary.
or
2. Tacoroot to unlock bootloader/downgrade combo, then unrevoked or revolutionary.
