Root TiBackup restore hangs

shmn

I just loaded TEAM D.I.R.T//DigitalKarma v7.77: Jackpot(Deluxe Edition) ROM and am running restore all apps and system data through Ti Backup Pro Root. But it keeps hanging. It will restore about 1 or 2% and then just sit there. I can force stop TiBackup or reboot and start again but it keeps hanging. Any ideas? Previous ROM was MikG 3.11. Went through the standard steps on the Dummies guide for rooting before reflashing the ROM. I did make a Nandroid before I started. I did D/L the latest Ti Backup and key before starting.

Don't restore system data. I dont mess with anything system, just user.
Also try to restore user apps 5 at a time instead of all at once...that may work better for ya!:D

I started to restore things manually, one by one. The TiBU wiki says to restore system apps too after switching ROMs. Is that wrong? Here is a copy/paste from the wiki:
2. How to restore your backups on a new phone, or after installing a ROM (if you wiped your phone):

  • Download Titanium Backup from Market
  • Click the Backup/Restore tab
  • Click Menu (the button), Batch
  • Click

mike,

was just reading your reply and everyone always says restore only user apps, would that be "restore all apps with data" (the last choice under restore. thx

Also, try changing app processing mode from direct to indirect. (or is it the other way around?) I hear changing that setting may help also :)

I always restore all apps and data, system and user. It gives me all contacts wallpapers everything the way it was from rom to rom. But I'm always on am aosp rom, I've never had a problem with it. But I could just be a lucky one.

you googled that, you cheater:p
A 1000 would've sufficed, but a septillion? nice!:)
o.k...back on topic before mikestony gets banned by someone for hijacking a thread...lol...mikestony is funny tho!:D
first off, i'm a robot, remember? no need to cheat.

aosp for the most part are cm based so system stuff is pretty close so there should not be any issues. but coming to and from sense and aosp could have adverse affects. you can restore system data if you are just updating roms. or the roms have the same base.
