Root [Boost Mobile] A question concerning setting CPU profile "prority"

I'm using Rom Toolbox Pro and want to set up cpu profiles. One for screen off, battery, and charging/full. My question concerns setting "priority" for each of these. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You tube vids are a great tool. I used them to set up my setcpu tool, among other things. Check it out.

I'll tackle them one-by-one:

Screen off: There's no reason to run the CPU at full tilt when you're not even using the phone and, conversely, you don't want to turn it all the way down either. Why? Because if there does happen to be something your phone needs to do while the screen's off, having the CPU at 122MHz might stretch that job out long enough to actually use more power because the chip had to run for 5 minutes at low speed to do something that it could have had done in 20 seconds at a higher speed. Now, since there's no way to tell just what Android's going to need to do internally at any given moment, I would just leave this value around halfway up the scale, around 600 - 700MHz.

Battery: Here, it's really up to you. If you prefer performance, then feel free to set that here. If you're going to have a long ways between wall outlets (lol) then setting this at the factory 1GHz or so isn't unreasonable. Personally, I charge my phone every night, so I have been maxing mine as of late.

Charging / full: While connected to your charger, there's really no reason not to have the CPU maxed. The only downside of that is that it may take a little longer to charge.

Hope this helps! :)
