There's no stock in the warehouses.

Dear Mr. tdub88,
Yes, I AM a Grandmother, and a retired school teacher, ...and a lover of all things connected to NEW PHONES,.....and I can see by your mastery of the English language..."a bunch of "ass-hats".....and your over-all finesse and diplomacy that you, and you alone, can decifer the difference between truth and lies. We stand in awe of you.........

Oh Snap! You got beat down by Grandma!

I can see her now - being accosted by a street thug who's trying to steal her new Incredible, "What the heck-fire do you think you're doing, young man? Where are your manners??" (as she beats him mercilessly with her cane!) :p

It only needs to be LTE compatible, so they could roll that out in summer and have it work on their 3G network until the LTE is up and running at a later time.
That makes no sense, that would add unneeded cost to a phone that wouldn't be able to utilize the technology until 2011. Customers will feel cheated after they purchase the phone and realize that their LTE-ready phone has no LTE network to take advantage of.

I dont care what they call it as it will always be the incredible to me.... oh and as for April fools I will be torturing my forum with pranks not here.

I was looking for info about release date and major sporting event. At first I thought masters but AT&T is sponsoring that. Maybe the NBA playoffs in May? Not sure who the sponsors are for that. If they decide to got that rout prob a bigger audience to market to if they go that route.

You have got to be one of the most bad ass grandmothers I have ever encountered. Ma'am, I salute you.

The only thing is, they're not sitting there ready to go.

For this discussion, a load is a complete package of software including an Android OS build, apps, default settings, etc. At this late stage in the process, its highly unlikely that there are any functional changes in the load. Best practise is to freeze the feature function stuff well before release, and to restrict changes to bug fixes.

So, the best guess [with a slathering of heresay sauce] is that the Android build we saw on 24 March is the final bugfix build which has been incorporated into the new software load and is now being tested.
- If the testing confirms that all the known bugs are fixed [and nothing new rears its ugly head] then the new load would become the release load.
- Production can them start stamping them out and shipping them to VZW for sale.
- The announcement and marketing roll-out could start at the same time.

We wont have an announcement until the testing is done and the final software image [aka release load] is frozen. VZW won't have stock until HTC delivers product with the final software image loaded.

mmmmm...

Somehow, I'm both very excited and content enough to patiently wait for this device (deep breath). This will clearly be the best phone I have ever owned, and likewise an upgrade in cell phone networks.

Having read the vast majority of this forum further drives the point home that all of our sleuthing, dreaming, opining, wishing, whatever... will not bring this device to market or my VZW store any sooner. I'm okay with that, because it will be worth the wait.
