Root [ROM] Harmonia 2.03 28Sept12 (Virgin)

how did you get it at 1305/245 my max is 1024 is there some way to overclock that i missed on the forum
 
thanks Leslie i dont know how you did it not only is it way faster but my battery life is freakin awesome. im a heavy user of my phone i always have wifi on and im always overclocked to 1 gig max/min at all times and i play 3d games constantly and i never put my phone down. On stock rom i had about 4 hrs of battery life now i can wake up at around 9 (on weekends i still go to school) and go to bed at like 12 and still have like 20% battery!!!!!!
 
Btw with your rom and giantpunes 1.6ghz overclock I got a 2900 in quadrant that's better than the Motorola matrix 4g and its right under the Asus transformer prime and the HTC One x

I ran quadrant benchmark as well on my OE Harmonia 2.03 with giantpunes 9-28-12 kernal at 1.6mhz and got 2752 as my rating. Still in third place on the list.

Pretty cool. Is the quadrant benchmark pretty legit?

Of coarse its legit lol oh and when I was on stock I only got 1900 in quadrant $)

It is but too much overclocking puts unnecessary strain on your phone, can cause it to shorten the life of it and the battery takes a hit, too.
My rule of thumb is to overclock it two notches below max and see if i get any random reboots that might cause it and go from there.

I have it at 1.6ghz Max/min and no reboots at all in the past 2 days also the phone doesn't get hot and battery life isn't reduced but as you probably know this proccesor is very over clock friendly (I believe its a snapdragin s2 proccesor)
 
Would anyone like to tell me why its not good to kill running apps? I use go launcher, so occasionally I go into the built in running apps tab and kill things I'm not using, should I not do this?

I have never understood why everyone says not to, also. For me it's exactly like using a computer - I close the task, I'm done with it. I don't intend to use it for some time, and therefore I do not appreciate it taking up resources when it shouldn't be, so I go kill it if it continues to linger post-close. It doesn't mess with the mess, it doesn't corrupt any data, but it does free up resources and therefore speed, and so I always do it. I'll go as far as to say that the general hype about it comes from the days of Cupcake and tin foil hats, because whenever I do it it is because it shouldn't be continuing to run and slow everything else down when I don't need or want it to.
 
Has anyone had any success using the silenced cameraApp.apk? It either won't install or force closes when it does install.

I have also pulled the CameraApp.apk from this rom and deleted the shutter sound files and that causes it to FC too.

I don't use the silenced cameraApp.apk, but I've never had the stock app FC on me either. I go into /system/media/aduio/ui and delete the camera snap files and camera shutter files, and then the camera app is silenced, but never FC's on me either.

No.
There has been many instances where doesn't detect a test crash and assumes the test finished, thereby giving silly results.

Want proof?
An 800mhz Optimus V outran an overclocked Triumph and an Evo V on Quadrant.

Quadrant doesn't even match up with other tests. I tested 4(?) roms (3 runs each), all similar, and While other tests agreed what was the fastest of the 4, Quadrant figured another for the fastest.

In my experience, it's not even accurate enough for personal testing.

Linux/Ubuntu is good at managing memory.

Some say you can damage the files shutting them off (I don't buy that), but really there is no need to on a rooted rom. If an app is that out of control, remove it and find another.

Personally, the only people who should be killing apps (and others will argue both sides of this till they are blue in the face) are people who have no other option due to not having root.

You aren't installing it right. you aren't supposed to "install" it at all. You go to /system/app/, delete the camera app in there, put I'm the silenced camera app, then reboot phone. The camera is a system app, you can't install system apps like normal apps.

That is how i install it and how i have been installing it and it still doesn't work.
 
Unless he released a new version the one posted one is odexed so it won't work on Harmonia since it's deodexed.

Odexed apps have 2 files... The apk and the odx file... When you deodex you combine thise 2 files. So harmonia is missing the odx file needed to run the camera app.

Maybe hash would be so kind as to modify the deodexed app.

I just removed the camera app and got camera ics from market. It's the camera app from ics and i like it alot more than stock

I have also tried removing the sound files from the one packed with Harmonia. I've also tried copying the one installed currently removing sound from it and copying back to /system/app/ and still get FCs. I may try the ICS camera route.

[edit]Finally got it, I put an empty .ogg in the CameraApp.apk for each of the cam_snap_#.ogg. I'll post a link for it after I drop off my kids to school.[/edit]

Download it
Move the file to /system/app/
Rename CameraApp.apk to CameraApp.apk.old or CameraApp.apk.bak
Rename silent.CameraApp.apk to CameraApp.apk
The camera should now work without a shutter sound.[/edit2]

I don't know if you got this figured out or not, but this is how I silence my shutter. I'm using CameraZoom so I do not know if it replaces the original camera sound or not.

Must be Rooted.

system/media/audio/ui

rename Camera_click.ogg to something like Oldcamera_click.oldogg (I do this with any file I alter, that way it's always there and easy to find if I want it back.)

If that's not the camera click sound you phone uses, theres about another 6 camera click sounds in that folder....
 
For some reason when I unlick my phone, its extremely laggy and it gets better after a minute. What could cause this?
