Not to be a downer but I can confirm that the Droid BOGO will run until 4/15/10. I just got a mailer today saying that if you buy a droid, you can chose an Eris, Droid, enV3, or Gateway netbook for free. I've been eligible for an upgrade for a while so that might be why it runs till 4/15 for me, but I'm guessing its for everyone. When I first got it, I laughed and said "Droid sucks", then I saw the 4/15 date and said "Damn you Verizon".

That being said, I doubt the BOGO will affect the Incredible release date.

Also, it sounds like there could be a party with all of us TC people in here!
 
Steven, your 1,000th post has to be something special. You failed at the 800 and 900 mark. :p

...like this guy, I'm dying to trade in my Treo 650 for a decent Verizon smartphone. Maybe something Incredible.

Also, NKT, MM, Kappy, Steven58 (no relation ;), and I'm older than you), kcoan, Grandma, and not least of all Anonimac all rock. And I don't envy the mods at all.

I've learned lots about HTC, Verizon, and even about choads. Thanks! I won't bore you with my went-to-VZW-store story.

p.s., Portal ("the box/cake is a lie") is an awesome game.

I have been lurking since Page 4, read through thousands upon thousands of posts, have been guilty of not doing work in favor of hitting F5 over and over again, have lost and regained faith in Big Red several times now over the no-shows at various events and expos, but FINALLY decided to create a user name to express my disdain for Apple.

Competition fosters technological advancement. Maybe Apple should spend more time maintaining the relevance of their own aging devices rather than suppress the innovation of others.

HTC FTW


Oh yeah, almost forgot, free MM and Kappy!

Steven, you crack me up everyday. Got to B the funniest guy ever in a forum. I'm glad I joined the party so I get to hang out with you guys. I love this place!

Ok guys- I dug up some info on the promotions that will be starting tomorrow. Looks like either Palm put some heavy pressure on VZW or they really just have a *hit ton of Palms in the warehouse, which, due to the new Palms selling worse than the Cosmos, both are probably the case. But anyways, here's what I found:

The Pre Plus is going down to $50, and the Pixi Plus to $30- VZW is waiving the MIRs in-store :eek: Also, as an incentive to get the Palms, customers can get the Mobile Hot-Spot feature FREE- I think that's either for the duration of the contract, or for life- not sure which one :eek: They're really not playing around with this.. Interestingly, the BB BOGA will be continued, so only the droids are no longer BOGO. Perhaps even more interesting- these offers go til the 18th, which fits in eerily well with the supposed release timeframe for our beloved Incredible. So instead of them launching on the 1st after the BOGO ends, might April 19th be the day that we've all been waiting for?? We'll see..

I'll do some deeper digging tomorrow into more details about these deals, and see if they've posted anything relating to the 19th and beyond..
 
Greetings gentlemen, Red Leader checking in.

I drove by a Verizon store and decided to pop in as I felt like having some fun with the reps and extract some info for the Incredible crew.

Blonde: Hiii, I saw you checking out the droid, do you like what you see?
Me: *Looking at her with Devilish smile* I do NOW ;)
Blonde: Ohhhh hahaha...*big smile*
Me: I need a new phone, something fast and powerful.
Blonde: Wellll The droid is good, and we just released the devour.
Me: I like the droid but don't want a physical keyboard. Have you heard about the ADR6300?
Blonde: Oh you mean the replacement for the eris?
Me: :D Yes. Any idea when it's coming out?
Blonde: Couple of weeks.
Me: Ok, well I have some business to take care of and must be going. How about we exchange numbers and I'll call you in a week, to discuss this phone...among other things ;)
Blonde: Giggling...ok. *Hands business card and writes another cell number on the back*
Me: K, catch ya later...incredible.


I also heard another two reps mention that Fedex had arrived that morning and that UPS had made two deliveries today - which it appeared to surprise them quite a bit. I also saw a rep put up new signage (pictures of the palm phones). There was also quite a bit of commotion coming from the backroom that I could hear.

Before I walked out the door I caught the store manager:

Me: Hello, do you have any new phones coming out soon ASIDE from the devour?
Him: Don't know at the moment, I wouldn't be able to discuss it even if I knew.


Things are in motion :D

Speaking of funny and party: I took my 16 year old son to an all you can eat sushi place, tonight. We have great father/son times. All of a sudden he starts busting out in an Asian accent in the restaurant! I'm dying, thinking that someone's going to kill us! Fortunately, no one even heard him as it was very crowded. (I wonder where he gets his sense of humor, huh?) :rolleyes:
