Bad April Fool's Joke. I am pretty sure that is the photoshop phone someone posted here forever ago that has been making it's way around the intrawebs. Fail one.

You screwed up the viewing on the page and I now have to side scroll at 6:45 am when no human being should be forced to scroll two ways. Fail two.

You Double Fail.
 
Pulled the trigger and just ordered a Droid to arrive tomorrow. That should keep me calm until the day the Incredible arrives. Is the return policy 30 days from activation, arrival or ordering it?

Having said that I remember from a post about 5-50 pages ago someone said that apps you purchase are tied to your Google account. Therefore, on your new phone all you would have to do is go to the android market and re-download the apps you already purchased.

Can someone with an android phone confirm this?

That is true. Once you buy you own! I have to re-download them from the market but am not required to purchase them.

Is it sad that even though I Knew that was BS, and you said it was BS... I still went to verizonwireless.com to check?
 
Morning guys. THIS IS NOT A JOKE (or even that big of a deal) but when I drove by my VZW store on the way to work, the droid ad in the window was down. There was something else. I couldn't tell what it was. I was at a distance and there was some dew/moisture build-up on the window (I was stopped at a red light). TO ME, it looked almost like the N1. No lie. HOWEVER, I checked google.com/phone and nada and I seriously doubt it was the N1. It just looked like it, so I am thinking they put an old Eris or new Eris ad up. I do not know for sure.

I am NOT trying to get anyone's hopes up or spread false info, so TIFWIW! I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and be on the lookout for new ads or promo materials.

On my drive into work this morning I was slightly dismayed upon hearing a Droid Does commercial on the radio. I understand marketing can go a bit longer than promos sometimes and that the Droid isn't going to stop selling anytime soon, but it still made me :-/. Kinda like they must not be gearing up for Inc ads... at least not this week.

I thought they were talking about my infraction and why I am on probation, apparently they meant if I had info on when the incred. was droppin'. It was my bad. I don't have anything new, but I think an announcment is real soon, possibly within a week, just a feeling I am getting from some stuff I have been told and the way things are lining up.
 
Regarding that comment about a Droid commercial on the radio, I just don't see how they can keep pumping advertising dollars into a campaign for a phone that's entering its 6th month of existence. I know Apple does that, but they just have the one model, it's perennially updated, and they're the manufacturer.

None of these factors are true for Verizon, so why keep embarrassing themselves trying to pimp last year's "new" hardware?
 
I saw a new palm commercial last night and I read on here earlier where there is a new palm promo? I hope an announcment is soon, I don't want to wait until the 19th for an announcment. A release, sure, but announce this biddy already!

Because they can still make money on uneducated consumers who think the droid is still the hotness

I know it's fake. I've already been to VZW and testman this morning. I'm fighting the urge to run and check. False hope sucks. Especially when you *know* it's false but still can't help it. Kinda like your 16th birthday. You know there is no car. But you gotta look.

I think that's primarily because at the present time, the Moto Droid is the best they have. They're legitimately putting their best foot forward in that regard. We also don't and can't know why things are taking as long as they are as outsiders looking in. We can only hope sooner rather than later. I'm sure they have their reasons for doing things the way they are, I just happen to disagree with their decisions to sit back and let other carriers run away with all of these awesome phones. I'm kinda torn actually. I want an awesome phone like the Incredible, for sure, but i know that if Verizon actually does what we all want them to do there will be very, very little real competition for them. They'll essentially have a monopoly on the US market... and I hate monopolies.
 
Just wanted to say hi and thank you for a great community. I've been following the forum for about three weeks and have found all the information very informative and the sometimes witless banter amusing.
I was in a Verizon store last night to upgrade my wife's storm 1 to a Curve... I'm pretty sure because it was "lavender" (not purple as I was promptly informed). Anyway, I tried picking the guys brain about the incredible and got absolutely nowhere. He said he doesn't even believe it's coming out until its in his hand. I asked him if he follows the phone/technology sector personally, outside of work and he stated he did. He just seemed so timid about the phone. I just don't understand how you can work for a company and not have a grasp on whats going on around you. He stated I was not the first person to ask. He also went on to say that the iphone will NEVER happen on Verizon. I started to explain to him that Verizon's own CEO was quoted as saying they were in talks a few months ago. He rebutted saying the Wall Street Journal had bad sources at which point I ended the conversation. Wouldn't you just say I can't talk about it if you weren't allowed to?
 
AF, I think we are real close to announcment..

Look at the facts:

`A member posted a week or so ago that his friend was working on the first commerical for the incredible

`The inventory picture showing 150k on order

`NKT had his system updated with more specs like a week or so ago

`Not 100% accurate, but we have had numerous reports of CSRs saying 2 weeks

`Lots of speculation and rumors of a mid April announcment/release

`The droid BOGO is over/ending and droids are showing up "out of stock". What better time to launch a new android?

`Reports test models have been in stores with some management messing with the phone

`Reports of training beginning

Anything else to add that an announcment seems soon (possibly next week)?

I know some of those points are highly subjective and could be lies, but I am trying to stay on the positive side of this :)

Not sure if your trying to convince yourself for sanity reasons or whatever...but it's working on me!;)
 
droids are back in stock. The assumption they went out of stock because of the 2.1 release was correct it seems. I am still waiting for the droid
