Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

So the nieces came down on Saturday with the mother-in-law and sister-in-law and that night I tried to get them to watch Tangled in 3D. I knew the youngest wouldn't because she's just 15 months, but I really thought the 3 year old (will be 4 in January) would watch it. She made it through about 2 minutes and then questioned why she was wearing glasses to watch tv. She took them off and said she wanted to watch it without them, so I switched out the movie to the regular 2D version and she happily watched it. *sigh* Oh well, at least I like watching 3D content...really thought it would be the other way around where the kids would like it and I wouldn't.

Man, I was at BB earlier to check out some new tech. Played with the new Fire. Screen is gorgeous and I didn't notice much lag at all but bezel city!
Anyway, looked at some TVs as well. In no way do we need a new one, but prices have plummeted and they had a lot of open box ones. Beautiful Samsung 46" for about $600. We paid $500 for our 32" LG a few years ago.

I actually really like the weather today. Cool and mostly cloudy. Makes for nice, lounging on the couch, day off work. :)
Had a delicious hot toddy at the restaurant today. Can't wait for winter!

Indeed, the new Kindle Fire is a HUGE improvement over the original. Screen is, as you said, gorgeous.

TV prices have come WAY down. We got this 50" plasma that got CNET editors choice 2012 and consistently gets RAVE reviews from the AV forums for $1,000. Picture is amazing and the 3D is even more stunning.

Thing is, our TV is just fine and our tiny living room really doesn't need anything much bigger. But those new ones (and cheaper prices) are slightly tempting.....

I hope more people get on the 3DTV bandwagon. It is severely under-rated. I love 3D!

Now if Dish Network would actually get around to carrying 3D channels (besides a handful of 3D PPV movies), I might watch more TV. But not MUCH more.

Yeah, the only reason the wifey let me get this one is the sound board went out on my 42" Sony 3LCD rear projection TV. We had it running through the surround sound system anyway, but my wife hated having to control the sound through the AV reciever and the channels through the satellite remote. Now everything is all on one.

Good deal. We have a pretty cheap Blu-ray surround sound setup. Works fine for our small space, plenty loud.
Actually decided to rent Inception to watch. Only $2 from Amazon. :)

Ours is an Insignia (BB store brand). Not so bad but we have issues connecting to the TV via HDMI (video drops out). Roku has solved all our streaming problems though.

So I watch Live! with Kelly and Michael almost every day and today they had on Christopher Walken to promote his new movie. They were discussing part of the movie and Kelly made a statement that basically called pitbulls a scary dog. I mulled over it most of today and just had to post on their facebook page because the statement really ticked me off. I said stereotyping a dog breed is just like promoting racism. Just thought I'd share with my fellow animal lovers. I do understand that some people don't like the breed and I respect that but to stereotype and say that they are scary seems wrong to me. Thanks for letting me ramble....

I don't watch SNL - never got into it but now I might have to go find the skit.
If I had my own place I would adopt as many as I could. I love all dogs but give me a breed that is an 'underdog' for love and I'm all over it. I'm a sucker like that.

Evening all. Made fajitas for a church family because the mom had surgery yesterday. Didn't feel like cooking two meals, so got takeout Chinese :)

I really want a 3D TV, but my TV is working good, so will patiently wait till it goes out.

Was all excited to get home and check for an update to the N7,of course, the battery was dead from the kids :p

So how was the first 24 hours for the new guides?

How do you put THAT delicately on a headstone?

Here lies Edward Archbold

Rest in peace, young man... and I'm sorry if some think me insensitive, but that's just got Darwin Award all over it.
