Root [ROM] Leaked Spectrum ICS 7v05 test ROM CDMA

Here's the leaked Spectrum ICS test ROM. Blows away our stock build.

Super Big thanks to Brianmeadche and tdm for without them, this Rom would not be possible. 7v15 Rom was also done, but no data works on it. Nandroids could not be done on original leak as the recovery is locked down and bricked your phone if put on it.

Credits:
Used tdm's aokp kernel and his reconstructed test boot.img to make boot possible.

Warning, Rom has some bugs. Most likely needs new radio and original kernel. Could not get original boot.img extracted from original leak.

Bugs; 4g drops, maybe reboots, maybe charging issues, wiper fc's........more???? Does stabilize and can be a daily driver if your ok on 3g. No gsm.

Test ROM Rooted:

Full wipe required and flash from cwm recovery to install.

I saw pics after the leaked version came out but I didn't want to post them to avoid the source getting into any trouble. iirc the devs weren't able to do anything with the version that was being tested by VZW due to it being locked down with security features and also not having source for the kernel. But either d2a or PG can better clarify this.
 
Is this new or is it the V7_15 leak? I was able to get the V7_15 leak to boot by using my own kernel (which may not have been necessary) and changing the permissions on the files, just like ye olde standard edify installer script would do.

So yeah, it would be easy to make a flashable zip from the boot.img and system.tar. I don't really have the motivation (because I don't have a SIM and it insists on having a SIM to run, and I'm not on VZW and I never got 3G working on the stock GB ROM) but it would be cool to see someone else do it.

To pull boot.img do "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8 of=/mnt/sdcard/boot.img bs=4096"

Please do, the only reason I want ICS is because of global radio with data enabled, 3G or 4G (I travel outside USA frequently). If we have "official" leak, it is very likely that GSM radio is enabled and it will work once unlocked. If I have understood correctly, because CM9 is not "official" we have radio issues.

Well a custom boot.img I tried did not work. Won't boot. If I cant find a way to pull the boot.img I won't be able to make flashable Rom. If I try adb commands to pull boot.img I get a permission denied, read only.

Anybody's help is greatly appreaciated.

The boot image from the leak is locked down(all V7 versions so far have it). Even if you pulled it, you'll just get a security error because you're running a custom recovery. I tried putting TDM's kernel into the V7_15 file system and while it booted, it never made it into the rom itself. I didn't have enough time last night to really study the dmesg that was looping. That's my goal for tonight/this weekend.

Also, here is the V7_15 boot image. The wallpaper binary is what is locking everything down.

Assuming you used "adb remount" although why you need write permissions to copy the partition, I'll never understand
 
Yes it is quite possible the leak kernel might have done facility to detect tampering or whatever. But I did boot the leak with my kernel, same one that is in my ROM. So try packing a boot image with it instead.

Thanks boss, got v5 to boot and run. Testing v15 now!!!!

Rom comming soon for everybody!!!!:)
 
v15 is no good as it has no data. But v5 is ok, and gets 4g though seems to drop and go to 3g. Probably need the new radio that will come with update. Will have v5 rom soon .:)
 
wiper keeps force closing and the baseband still says v6. and it keeps rebooting like its fine for the first 5 minutes then it just reboots and yes i wiped everything twice before i flashed it

Yes, has bugs. Need original kernel.
At least it boots so you can see what's comming soon. :)
 
I'm on it right now, after a bit of running it the charger starts to work and it starts to speed up. This I going to be my daily for now. Showed my wife and she was happy :)

How did you get it to boot up........help please???

Nevermind......I just wiped and installed it again and now its fine :-D
