What do you think of your LG Motion?

I just bought one the day before yesterday and I was just wondering how satisfied everyone else was with theirs. Its not my first smartphone but it might as well be since the last one I had was a piece of s@#t! Hopefully this one will be better! What do you like about yours? Anything you dislike? Any favorite apps for it? Any other tips and tricks?

this phone is the shi anybody who says its crap obviously dont know what they are talking about spec wise it is just as good as any other really good phone right now they only things on other phones that are better on other phones are screens and cameras, but if i want pro pics ill use my pro camera for it and if i i want to watch a 2 hour movie ill watch it on my big screen tv. people nitpick too much they want cheap and everything top of the line i think metro did a great job with this phone at the price point its at. its affordable and very good.

I love mine despite the fact that there's no custom recovery....yet. Specs and performance rock and it's the perfect size for a phone IMO. I missed my Admire for like a day :)

I like this phone so much, I actually keep it in a case with screen protector. I have other top of the line phones in the past, but I have grown out of capturing photos and videos or using a phone screen for media. It's hardware to me is very impressive plus the size is just right for me.

There's only a few key features in today's smartphone world that keep this from being a tier 1 device, in my opinion.

Those features would be (in order of importance to me):

1) HDMI output in some hardwire capacity (although the motion will stream HD wirelessly to a TV/display with DNLA support)

2) High resolution screen

3) NFC

4) Automatic display brightness control

5) Dedicated 2-step camera button like I had on my Optimus M

Considering the price point and the raw performance of this little bugger, there is really nothing to complain about.

This is the best phone on metro pcs. Maybe even right now in the market period. On performance scores it beats htc one x and samsung galaxy s3. I personally, from coming from lg optimism m + I am in love with ics and how fast this phone really is! Yeah there's lil development for Roms, but don't let that fray u from an amazing phone!

This is my first smart phone and I like it. One thing I like so far is having the internet at my fingertips to look up some off the wall question when I'm out. Google maps has also come in very handy too. Doing all this quickly with this phone is great.

It's funny you mention Google Maps. Google's Maps and Navigation were virtually useless on Metro Androids before 4G. :-(

Hey guys - How is the battery life on the Motion, is it better than the LG Connect? Might buy this for my wife. I read around before I bought my Connect and everybody said the phone was awesome, fast, best thing out there. I was disappointed at how incredibly AWFUL the battery consumption was on this phone, just asking a few people around here for some battery feedback on the Motion. Looks like a great phone!!

Overall, I think it's an excellent phone.

What I like about the Motion 4G:

  • Great specs

  • Great performance

  • Great value

  • 4G LTE

  • Runs Ice Cream Sandwich

What I don't like about the Motion 4G:

  • Screen can be a little bigger

  • Battery life can be a little better

Some of my favorite apps:

  • Adaway

  • Barcode Scanner

  • CamScanner

  • Dolphin Browser

  • Gemini App Manager

  • iReader

  • Kingsoft Office

  • Puffin Browser

  • Screen Off and Lock

  • Smart Screen ON

  • Wi-Fi File Sender

  • WiFi Tether for Root Users

Overall, I think it's an excellent phone.

Oh Nash, I keep seeing your posts about battery life. I understand you are not getting the amazing battery life of your old Optimus but my goodness you are getting more battery life than the rest of us.

Don't take my comments as mean or anything, I'm just jealous. :o

Battery life is great, I get at least a day

I love the motion. I love it so much that I'm not nearly as excited about the s3 as I was and might not even get it now.

The phone gets awesome battery life compared to other 4g phones I've had. Most of the other 4g phones I've had needed to be charged half way through the day, not so with this phone.

It's fast, has ics, and personally I think it's a damn good looking little phone. Feels good in the hand.

Even though we don't have recovery (therefore no roms), I don't actually care. This is the first phone that I've had that I didn't feel like I needed a custom ROM for. It's great the way it is. I did change the launcher to nova prime and a few other things. I'm not in a huge hurry to get a custom ROM.
Being able to root it and remove some bloat and use some of the root only apps i use was enough for me.

Yeah, I'll get off of it. And don't be jealous. I don't use my smartphone like most people do. If I did, I'd probably be charging it daily, too.

My Motion was charging so I borrowed my friend's LG Marquee-which used to blow my previous phone, the Optimus M, away by comparison.

I couldn't wait to get back on my Motion. It absolutely killed the marquee, browsing on that phone after a month of the motion was awful. I know one is (real) 3g and one is 4g LiTE, as I call it, but still. Wow.

Phone = Good, could use a better/higher-res screen though. MetroPCS coverage = mediocre. When you get reception it's great but driving 200 yards down the road and you can lose it.

That's relative to your location though, has no real bearing on the phone itself. I'm in Michigan and normally wherever I go now I get a good signal and 4g. Not just in my home city either.

Its ok, I always seem obsessive about battery life. I am getting better about it though.

Have you tried under clocking your CPU? Doing so should give you better battery life. Of course you have to root your phone which isn't hard to do.

Yeah, I'm rooted and I did underclock to 900 mhz or so. I didn't see any change in the battery life, though, so I put it back to 1.5 ghz.

True but if you buy the phone you are pretty much stuck with their service as it's a CDMA phone. I get okay service but not great...coming from Verizon it's a bit disappointing honestly however at half the price I can live with it.

This phone runs so good out of the box...! I'll keep it stock!! No need for rooting and overclocking like my Admire did...

The battery life on all 3 of my optimus phones suck!!! How did you get good life on an optimus? I can't get it to last longer than 4 hours of constant use.
