Ummm...I just voice dialed from my bluetooth headset with an Eris, non rooted, 1.5, no special program.

-Nkk

EDIT: I seem to have quoted the wrong post. The original one asked about voice dialing and stated that it was not supported by any Android phone.

I've read a couple of things on it, but have no firsthand experience.

One thing I saw said you have to hit your bluetooth button, then press something on the phone screen, and then you can voice dial. Some of the threads that I saw on this complained that pressing something on the phone makes it not 100% voice dialing.

Not trying to argue, just reposting what I read about the situation.

Hmm..Thats interesting. I just press and hold the call button, and it beeped. I then said "Call Mom", and it did so, as she has only one number in my Eris.

Ok, so I did it again, and it may be a redial feature. I will have to look into this.

I'm hoping for an announcement tomorrow, with release sometime next week. If Verizon is moving from DROID marketing to Android marketing, that may be a good sign.

I totally agree, those commercials are def setting the stage for an android announcement. As for tomorrow, IDK, but I HOPE!!! I'm still gonna bet on an announcement within the second week of April...I hope i'm wrong, i sure as hell was wrong about a CTIA announcement lol

Cool, let us know if you figure out what's going on. I'm sure many of us would like to hear if this feature works.

what a day. I was fooled. I was vilified. My daughter was brought up. I shot someone in the back. Our thread was closed. I started one that is now obsolete. Fights.. fight... more fights...

I'm tired.

gnite all.

I am sure this pretty much the consensus already, but I think this campaign provides stronger evidence that there is no way that VZW releases the 6300 without "Droid" somehow being incorporated into its name.

Yeah, it seems they're still pushing the Droid part of the situation. (I didn't watch the ads before my last post) Call it DROID 2 and give it to me tomorrow. I don't need a fancy name, just a quality phone.

So pretty interesting things coming from Twitter. I have been hounding @VZWOffers for a week now. Finally, today, he responded to me directly and seemed to not deny, but still finds a way to get around giving me a release date. Here it is:

Me: @VZWOffers PLEASE tell me how long I will have to wait for the HTC Incredible. Im begging.....on my knees.....literally....

VZW: @natr89 Begging on your knees huh Nate :-) Don't, because good things are coming your way, we promise.

Like I said, still no time....no date....no how long, but its hope. We do know this much from his post. They are not denying anything, therefore:

1. The phone is real
2. The phone is coming to verizon
3. The phone is coming VERY soon
4. They are absolutely unwilling to give a release date at this point

The date is really the only thing we have yet to get out of them. Lets keep hounding boys, maybe someone somewhere will break. :)

That makes sense. That way they could just continue the "Droid Does" campaign but with it being about their whole line of Droid phones instead of only THE Droid.

I just watched those ads myself. And I noticed it's not really an "android" commercial, but for Droid. I doubt they'd name it anything with the "Droid" name in it.

I actually never noticed it before, but at the end of the commercial, it does have a copyright for Lucasfilms... Lucas owns the rights to the name "Droid"... Moto pays for usage.

I highly doubt, htc or vzw would use that name and continue to pay royalties.

The only problem I see is I don't think those that control VZWOffers have any information to leak. They seem to be in the same boat as your local VZW rep. Keep hounding them, and you might be able to get someone to leak a guess, but I don't really think they're privy to the information that we want.

don't forget that the HTC phone is called the DROID Eris...
