I just did an update on my cellbrite, no Incredible, either it leaked into his machine from cellbrite corp on accident, your friend is "incredibly" special, or it's a shopped pic.

I trust kcoan3.

The cellebrite news doesn't change anything anyway. A bit of confirmation and news during a slow time, but definitely nothing solid as far as a release. At this point I'm just thrilled to get some real info of any type!

I do buy quite a bit sight unseen online and I do look a lot at specs, features etc. However, I was ready to buy the Droid as soon as it came out but when I saw it in store I did not want it although all the specs etc. were what I was looking for. I did not find this forum until Feb so I was holding out for something else without knowing about the Incredible rumors. Therefore, I would not purchase an N1 sight unseen. Just my perspective.

This was the same for me. I thought for sure I was getting a Droid. My NE2 was up one week after the launch so I was just waiting for that. The a guy at work got one and brought in in, let me play with it for an hour.

It just wasn't right for me. Too angular, heavy, thought I would like the keyboard but realized I wouldn't, etc, etc. Not knocking it as it is a great phone, but it didn't "fit" me.

I will say though, If the N1 would've debuted on Verizon instead of TM, I would not have hesitated for a second. Partly I guess because I'm a big fan of Google's apps & services, and they represent the anti-Apple... that was enough for me to take a blind leap :D:D:D

Just saw this a few moments ago. Seems Apple is trying to pee in the corn flakes again. :(

Verizon Nexus One Release Update: Import Restrictions To U.S.

Hopefully their suit fails. Wonder what would happen if some of us users started filing suit against Apple for holding up progress and preventing fair competition by trying to create a smartphone monopoly. I wonder if a few hundred folks did that if they'd get the idea?

(just pondering, don't take my idea too seriously, but I am really tired of Apple stomping on any competition they face. Competition means better, less expensive things for us consumers.)

OK... Kill me again.

Thank you for all of your detective work and honesty in reporting any possible news (good or bad) back to us.

I see the name is listed as HTC Incredible, and the Eris is HTC Droid Eris...could this be proof that Verizon is not carrying out the Droid name on the Incredible? I betcha it is.

To use the name/term "Droid", Verizon had to pay Lucas Arts license fees for both the Motorola Droid and the HTC Droid Eris. I'm not sure they would want to pay these royalties for a third device. Although it is possible as it appears the Incredible will be replacing the Droid Eris. But the "HTC Droid Eris 2" is not that catchy IMO. "HTC Frigging Finally" is the name I would go with once released.

I'm somewhat of an inventor - have a patent. Patents are good but I know what you mean. I want the Incredible!

FYI..............

On Wednesday I signed another two year contract with Verizon and got the Eris (loved the functionality of the Droid, but hated how big it was - looked too clunky for a female). Needless to say I enjoy playing on the Eris BUT (and a big BUT here) the battery life is TERRIBLE.

I showed my neighbor my new phone (he is a major gadget geek) and his comment was, "Why did you buy that? Verizon has some new phones coming out anytime!" I immediately called the manager at the Verizon store (he was the one who helped me with my Eris). I explained the battery life, etc and then asked about the Incredible. I told him that I wanted to return my phone. He said hang onto it for a couple of weeks and swap it when they were available. I said "Are you sure it will be in before my 30 days are up?" His response was, "YES!" He said to give it a couple of weeks and to play around with the Eris in the meantime (I came from a BB and am not very technically savvy).

There's been 2 pics from separate sources which is why we assume its confirmed. Did you do a manual update or did it ask you for an update? Maybe said update hasn't been pushed to your machine yet.

Just a thought.

I did a manual, maybe they're rolling the update out slowly but there's no point to do that, if there's 2 separate pics than maybe I'll try again tomorrow. It said there was a new update available from last night, early morning, like 4/02 at 2AM, but no Incredible from update... Maybe mine is just being ******ed

You know there is a problem in this country when the plans to Marine 1 get leaked online but we can't convince a $9.75 an hr Verizon employee to tell us about a GD phone

The people who leaked those plans properly gained something from it. The sub 10 dollar an hour Verizon employee that you want to spill the beans will just be getting fired. With the way this economy keeps rising and falling, I'd probably keep my mouth shut if it'd cost me my job. Maybe we should make it worth their time to talk... =P

Opera, Firefox, and Skyfire all available on Android. I'll take all three please :D I love how no one is telling us which browser we must use. *cough*Apple*cough*Microsoft*cough*

Yes you heard that right. Microsoft is blocking third party browsers on Mobile 7.

I was unaware that Firefox was actually completed for Android devices. That aside, I think it is great that mobile OS makers are blocking third party browsers. This way they can write in exclusive support for things. Microsoft can make Silverlight usable on mobile phones ONLY via their browser. In the long run it will benefit all of us, in the same way that the antitrust suits years ago did. Sure Netscape was a far inferior browser, but it led to innovations and eventually Firefox, which everyone seems to love. I personally use Chrome on my home systems and default to IE if a page doesn't render properly.

I have always enjoyed Opera on Windows Mobile devices, I wish they'd step their game up for Android.

He probably is using an HTPC like me :) XBMC and Boxxe FTW! wonder if there'll be an Android version of that :)

XBMC is freaking awesome. I wish it handled network drives a little better though. It really makes an HTPC, though. Very functional and looks very nice. Way better than the Media Center crap that comes with Windows 7, IMO. I wonder if you could hook an Android device up and stream from it via XBMC... I'm gonna have to try that now.

Welcome, Mom. Thank you for the info. Just a request, when you post, would you mind using the regular font? I'm 51 and need reading glasses for small things. Regular font is ok for me here, but I couldn't read the font you selected. Thanks!

Steven

I'm loving the demographics of this message board. I wish we could find out where everyone was from, and the average age. I'm surprised at the amount of people here that aren't kids!

Portland, Oregon,.....and a lady never gives her age! I will only say that my kids have kids!:o

Take anything from that site with a grain of salt. There was an article not too long ago that (I think) was proven false. Also, most of their articles have ridiculous spelling errors, which for me makes it hard to trust them

I established my credentials with an actual photo of proof. I have nothing to prove to anyone. The photo I submitted is 100% real.

Good to hear ... I don't necessarily trust that site either, but I was petrified that my Incredible might get gobbled up by some crooked patent attorney on behalf of Apple.

Lets just hope the phones do not get held up by Apple's proceedings (or by anything else for that matter).
