Root [Boost Mobile] ZTE Warp Stability?

AJM3RD

Newbie
Hello I think you guys are great with the development and ROMs and all of that. I've been a member for a while but I rarely post if ever. Thanks for all of the work you've done.

With that being said, I have a question. Are your Warps stable? With the exception of Kik Messenger, Wordfeud, and Boat Browser Mini I don't keep a lot of apps running at the same time, yet I get freeze ups often (2-3/day) that require a battery pull. Do you think it is something I am doing or is it a problem with the Warp in general? I currently have Nexus Rom v2 installed and I was running rooted stock before. I use Memory Booster set to free memory upon device lock. I've used other frequency settings, memory managers, cache cleaners, I've even gone without... still the same result. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Be careful about app killers or ram optimizers, they can make your phone unstable.
I'm using n00b VI rom, Nemus launcher, SetCPU and Advanced Task Killer.
kernel: OCv0.6.6_1.4Ghz_8freq

ATK settings:
checked: "Auto Start", "Ignore service, front app"
Auto Kill Level: Safe
Auto Kill Frequency: When screen off
Security level: High

My Warp is very stable with n00b VI rom and that settings.

These warps are indeed WARPED!!! All of our phones react differently, Thanks ZTE!! But it looks like you have a good setup!

Is Nexus ROM v2 for the Warp?

Yeah it's the ROM that ports stock Gingerbread 2.3.5 from the Nexus over to the Warp. It is an improvement over the shipped version, but it still has the stability issues I mentioned earlier. I got it here in the Warp forums. I use it because of it's stock look and feel and improved performance. I thought that ROMs wouldn't install if they weren't on the proper device.

Ok. I didn't remember that one, and yes that is exactly where I was going. I have never seen a device boot with a ROM from another device but have seen them perm brick from doing so.

It's definitely suggest one of Downthemachine's kernels and possibly a compatible custom ROM like Icon or Shinjitsu.

It doesn't actually port the stock nexus rom, It just recreates it ( zte nexus is a look a like).

For the most part, my Warp is incredibly stable. I run my own ROM and flip back and forth between DM's 1.8GHz kernel and downthemachine's 1.7GHz kernel depending on whether I'm in the mood for WiFi or performance.

So I took your advice and flashed the 1.7 Ghz. Idky I've never tried it before. The performance increase is dramatic and impressive. Hopefully the kernel update and ATK (I stopped using Memory Booster) will solve my problem. So far so good... thanks guys!

I know, right?? It's like trading in your old beat up Volkswagen and driving away in a sleek new Tesla Roadster :D
