I uninstalled some of the metro programs. The things that dont work on the phone are : cant get visual when using camera (any camera app), bluetooth crashes the UI, cant view any video (youtube), chrome app doesnt work, vibrate doesnt work. The phone is still usable, just slightly annoying. On another note, thanks for putting up this guide.

Thanks for all this wonderful info. I just got the motion a week ago and its a great phone for the price. I had no idea about the 1.5 Ghz clock speed. After reading this thread I had to know what mine was running @ and I got a default 1.512 Ghz. Awesome! Even better for the money xD

I'm gonna make another method after I'm done with some homework and chores. I need mrpnut to test it with his second phone first though, there's a chance that it will boot into test mode. I have a tot and dll for LG flash tool. I wish I had a dll for LGNPST though...

This may not be on the right track, but I downloaded the "LG Support Tool" and ran that, it said that I was up-to-date and there was no way to reinstall, could you not somehow roll back the phone or at least trick it. Im not sure if im even on the right track or if it would be effective if it updated, but its a thought.
 
Did a factory reset which i did not believe would work to begin with which is why i did'nt even try, but it worked, so we are good! Thanks sammyz
 
Hey sammy I followed your guide 100% to the T

Im having a problem, I have windows 64bit, using the USB cable that came with the phone.

My problem is during the final step, while the program is processing and goes through the numbers 1,2,3 ect. Once it hits 100 it goes to 1 (my phone has reset by then)

But I don't know if that's it? Do i have to wait more? I waited 20min and the program didnt do anything else so I got superuser and it didnt say anything, and got a random root required app and it said my phone wasn't rooted.

PS. This is the very last thing I see, apart from the previous numbers.

If you're phone is booted and working, yes that's it.

What do you recommend I do after this, do I need a .apk file somewhere or download something? Since superuser doesn't do anything, and no root apps work.

Titanium back up doesn't work, it says it cant find the root, or any other root related apps

I got the root checker app and it doesn't say the phone is rooted, even though its running 1.5Ghz

If it helps I did a factory reset and still the same problem, I'm also using the internal memory if that helps.

Why do you think you're rooted? This guide only unroots.....go follow the root guide. Uninstall super user. You never root by installing super user from market.....you only update with it.

okaee so i got this phone a week ago came overclocked to 1.5 and had great battery life and no problems i soft brick flashed the firmware and now it overheats and i have mmss ans sms problems what can i do?

try flashing again. also look at what app uses the most battery and tell us
 
Finally had to use this guide LOL! Borked my system trying to get around the darned encryption. Thanks for putting it up @sammyz!
 
Just tried with the latest firmware everything appeared to work fine (at first the update said phone not found then device manager popped up ready to use). I tried again it ran through its process pulled the battery and phone is the same as it was. Heres the log :

Why did you pull battery??
 
Pulled the battery because it hung there for over 5 minutes. Anyways just tried it again this time it worked perfect. Updated to the latest firmware as stated before no real noticable difference and at least I dont have to reinstall all my apps and stuff (provided root goes right for me this time). Thanks again sammy!

Can you tell me the processor speed?
 
Just rerooted and checked again with root , 1512. The phone came at that speed though. I'll double check my girlfriends as she is unrooted and took the software update today this week.

BTW somehow 2gb of hard drive space has gone missing on my computer after running the program to unbrick / unroot, anyone know where it stores the files?
