Sprint giving you a totally free trial run for their service is pretty commendable though. I think that's pretty awesome that they are saying try us out with money back guarantee. Kudos to them.

They are doing what the "Free Trial" promos are doing and counting on many not wanting to go through the hassle of changing back in time. Then, guess what, you are locked in for a couple of years.

well kids, i'm atta here for the night ... happy easter, if you observe! ttyl.

The N1 is manufactured by HTC. Why would a Moto phone be the successor? Does anyone recall a successor phone that has been manufactured by a different company than the original? It would make more sense for the "Shadow" to the the Droid 2 if it was going to be a successor to anything, but if it in fact is coming out late summer/early fall as rumored, that's likely a bit too soon for a successor.

If I remember correctly, even when the Nexus one was announced back on Jan. 5th, a Moto representative was present. It seems as if this has been the plan all along. Does it make sense, maybe, maybe not, but it seems this has been in the works for a while.

Coverage isn't good in my area though. Free or not, it won't work for me.

If you're too lazy/ignorant to get out in time if you don't like the service, then you deserve to be stuck. I think it's pretty cool that you get a trial month on a carrier with no financial penalties. If Verizon did the same, they might see a lot of people realizing how good their network is and switching.

Honestly........check if the coverage in your area is good with the carrier, if it's good. Try it out, if it doesn't look to good, well then it most likely won't be good.

Use the online coverage checker and see how good the coverage is. I hate people that say, OMG I GET NO SERVICE WHERE I LIVE...........WHY THE HELL DID YOU CHOOSE THAT CARRIER THEN!!!!

I'm not saying they are gonna be the best carrier, I just think it's very nice to see if you are satisfied with their network coverage, or if it's a little enough difference where you'd rather save money on their plan rather than pay extra for V's plans. Does it make Sprint the best network? No. Do I think it's a great thing to offer their potential customers? Yes.

I think verizon is aware of the buzz around the "Incredible" and is happy to capitalize on the already existing name recognition. They don't want to be saying "Oh, you're looking for the Incredible, it was renamed. You actually you want THIS device."

If they don't change, I don't think "buzz" will be the reason. As enthusiastic (and my enthusiastic I mean maniacal) as everyone in this forum is about this phone, we are the very small minority who are even aware of it. 99% of phone buyers don't hear about something ahead of time, they just see what's the latest and greatest when they go into the store or they see the phone as it's advertised. So those folks will only know what they see after release. And us, well, we're following this thing like bloodhounds, so if there's a name change we're all gonna know about it and we'll debate it to death, and half will piss and moan it should have been left as Incredible, and the other half will say it should have been changed to anything but what it was actually changed to.

Very true. Anybody interested enough to know about the Incredible name will be interested enough to know that the name has changed to something else.

Google said early on that they plan on using multiple phone manufacturers to make more "super phones" to be sold on their website.

I totally agree.

Also, with the apple lawsuit they might switch. Apple is really targeting google, htc just isn't as big to protect itself. It might be wise for google to have multiple manufacturers so apple cannot hurt them so easily.

It is a great incentive for people that aren't exactly happy with their current provider and also for people who aren't sure they would get enough use out of a cell phone to buy one. Money back guarantee... best thing ever!

I think from the beginning, it's been the plan for Motorola to Manufacture the second Nexus phone. Even before the lawsuit. That's the way I've seen it at least.

Edit: Motorola has been in with Google and HTC on the Nexus plans since the beginning.

Queiroz spoke along with several other panelists including mobile guru Andy Rubin, HTC CEO Peter Chou, and even competitor Motorola Co-CEO Sanjay Jha.

It may be possible they just mean their actual house... I moved into an apartment once and didn't think to check my cell service, and didn't realize my phone would need to sit on the window ledge to get any signal whatsoever. It sucked, but I was under contract (with T-Mobile and the apartment) so there wasn't much I could do.

I think it's all just rumors right now.

The Nexus Two or whatever is supposed to be like a corporate phone from what i've read. Geared/aimed more towards the business group with a slide out keyboard.

Hmm, if that's the case I'd expect them to use a different name at least for phones by different manufacturers. I'd think it would be a little confusing for consumers to have a sequel phone be as different as it inevitably would be coming from a different manufacturer. Hand most of us on here a phone without the manufacturer tag on it and we could probably guess the manufacturer without turning it on. Oh well, it'll be interesting to see how that goes. As long as they contribute to the growing steamy pile on Apple's head, I'm all for it.
