Seriously?!?!

Then why would people bother to buy from Best Buy for phones. I've never seen a great selection there, when I've asked for help to show me how to use a primary phone feature one one of their (at the time) high end phones, the CSR had no idea how to get it to input text into the browser or anything else for that matter. Sad. Do they try to push some aftermarket warranty like on all their sales stuff? Is VZW ouf of the pic completely? What about NE2, etc? How does that work?

Really interested to learn more. Have always steered away from BB for mobile phones for all the reasons listed above but am definitely looking at it with an open mind and a desire to save $$$ :) (but who isn't, right?)

I bought from BB a few weeks ago (Droid for me, Eris for the wife.) Why Best Buy?

1. No Mail in rebates. Price you see is price you pay. $99 for the Droid, and the Eris was free.

2. The BB Mobile sales reps at my store are more knowledgeable than the Verizon Corporate store down the street. I had originally gone to the VZW store, and they had no idea what was going on. On top of that, the guy "helping" me was extremely rude, and obviously had no desire to get the sale.

3. I ported my number from Page Plus to Verizon. Something went wrong after three straight days of our phones working with our ported numbers, and our lines were CUT OFF. I could not get past the Verizon automated system to talk to a real person because it was saying my mobile # was not in their system. The ***** at the VZW Corporate store claimed they couldn't help me, because "there's no way" I was a VZW customer if my number didn't show in their system. I went back to BB, and they bent over backward to get a hold of their Verizon rep. They had me fixed in 30 minutes, just in time for me to catch my flight to Vegas.

I love best buy mobile, and will never buy direct from Verizon.

Are there any new dates that have been stated or confirmed? Like I said I have been gone for a few days and I am being really, really lazy to look back at the past posts.
we have been waiting on u and ur breaking news but u just left us .. hahah nah u havent missed anything ground breaking we are all still waiting for solid news the link u posted was the latest tidbit

Nonsense, this is crazy talks, we may only operate inside of the parameters of evil cartoon henchmen...Otherwise someone might read this and think we're dangerous or something

correct, we must be undercover
we could go mission impossible and break into verizon warehouse, take all the incredebles, and reveal them to ALLLL! :D

okay folks, my job screwed me over and I've been without internet since my last post Friday. I hate to be 'that guy' asking for the changes, but can anyone PM me about anything major while I read a 30 pages I've missed?

I personally think that the Nexus one will outsell the incredible and here's why?

* There are not a lot of people expecting the incredible as much as we are.
* Google has managed to advertise the Nexus one on every friggin webpage you open, so there is a lot more people expecting the Nexus one. Verizon has amazing service, so people that want the Nexus one but dont want the crappy service from other carriers might switch for it.
* Again, while the incredible is an awesome phone, i do not see it outselling the nexus one at this point, because the fan base is not as huge.....

I'm still catching up on the thread so this may already have been posted.

I don't think there will be very many people breaking contract to switch to Verizon because of the current carrier's ETF which is high if they already have a smartphone.
If they already have a Nexus One with their current carrier, they definitely won't switch as they would have to pay Google $350 in addition to the carrier ETF. You may get people switching over after their contracts are up.

The Nexus One has had support issues via Google, and people may already turned off by that even though the Verizon version will be supported by Verizon.

This idea I like...Then we can walk into a Verizon store for activation. Once we're there I'm sure we'll still receive the look from the reps. like we just took a shit on the floor in front of them...They'll as "Whats an Incredible, that device doesn't exist"

Haha, just put the incredible up in their face, and say " what the hell is this?!?! The phone you know nothing about huh?!"

They'll still play dumb...If they acknowledge the Incredible's existence before the actual release, they are subject to Verizon's policy for treason and my be hung.

Is anyone else scared that because of the hype surrounding the release of the Incredible, maybe just maybe, we're all going to be terribly disappointed when the damn thing actually gets released?

It just seems to be my luck lately: I wait patiently, wait some more, and more, then bam it's released. And then I sit back and I think to myself 'I waited all this time for this? What the hell is wrong with me?'

But for the record, I am pretty confident this won't happen to me this go around.

Nope, nothing to be scared of at all. If anything, Verizon is losing due to the delay not me. Every week they delay is a week they're not benefiting from me ponying up for a data plan as I continue to use this old-school dumbphone.

Meanwhile, other carriers get more attractive and increase their footprint. More apps file into the Android Market. Time is on our side, not Verizon's.

And another one snaps ....

the saga continues.

not true... they still honor the warranty

Theyre not supposed to- its a major audit hit if they exchange a phone that was purchased from a retailer. When we service them, we're supposed to look up the original transaction and see where it was purchased. The retailers get their phones directly from the manufacturers, not from VZW (hence the reason BB had the Devour before VZW did). So they have their own warranty agreement with the manufacturers. So yes, you could buy a phone from there and then risk the probability of getting a dumb CSR who doesnt know the rules..

At this rate the incredible will get me divorced before I have the phone in my hands. I follow this thread everyday and wish Verizon would at least announce a release date!!!!

LOL ya I feel I have snapped. I feel bad cause I'm at almost 100 posts and they have all been mostly rants and talk about the phone. I havent been able to contribute nothing useful. Most of my thanks are from that one pic I posted of the red underneath and thought it was the Incredible and it wasnt :( So I think I might just lurk cause I dont wanna bore anyone anymore with my rants and no talk of anything useful from me. I wanna apoligize to everyone for that

Especially because you know damn well Verizon has the date set. They just aren't telling us. Sadistic Bastards!

This is sad, I bought an iPad and I'm using it solely for the time being to find out as much info as possible about the Incredible. But the iPad is awesome :D
