So I am eating my Easter dinner in the early afternoon and............BOOM...............a 7.2 earthquake hits in Baja California. It is felt all the way in Southern California where I am. I thought maybe Verizon announced the Incredible and the world was now coming to an end. I thought I would never get a chance to see the phone I have been waiting so long for.

Nope. It was just another earthquake in So Cal. Cmon Verizon! Lets get this thing Done already!

This is sad, I bought an iPad and I'm using it solely for the time being to find out as much info as possible about the Incredible. But the iPad is awesome :D
Yea, it's not as bad as we all though it was. It may be a giant iPhone on the outside, but the software enhancements are pretty good. That LED screen is mad nice also. Oh yea, and it's faster than Snapdragon........i guess the A4 will be put in the next iPhone possibly?

Was on of the strange feeling quakes I've experienced.

Theyre not supposed to- its a major audit hit if they exchange a phone that was purchased from a retailer. When we service them, we're supposed to look up the original transaction and see where it was purchased. The retailers get their phones directly from the manufacturers, not from VZW (hence the reason BB had the Devour before VZW did). So they have their own warranty agreement with the manufacturers. So yes, you could buy a phone from there and then risk the probability of getting a dumb CSR who doesnt know the rules..

VZW policy is very straight forward. Within the first 30 days a device is returned or warrantied by the agent (Best Buy). After 30 days ALL WARRANTY ISSUES are handled by VZW. PERIOD. I bet my four years of wireless experience on it.

not true... they still honor the warranty

It's an HTC (or motorola or whatever) phone, it is the manufacturer's job to warranty it. Just like any other product, I don't think VZ has a responsibility to fix/repair/replace a device you bought form someone else.

I think Verizon handles it though, for people who bought it through them. But ultimately it's the manufacturer who is responsible.

I could be wrong though. It's still early in the year and I haven't used up my quota of wrongs.

ANY VZ EMPLOYEES HERE?

I went in and got the Droid at Best Buy last night. I just was too impatient with my BB Curve. This takes some effort to get used to, but it does have some pretty great features. I am still going to pay attention to the release of either N1 or Incredible. If it is within 30 days, I am sure this will have to go back.

All warranty, after the 1st thirty days, is handled by VZW. Ur device will be replaced with a FRU phone (certified refurbished).

A few (experienced users) already stated that withing 30 days after purchase the retailer handles any issues, after that Verizon handles anything else, you don't ever go through the manufacture to replace/repair your phone, that's the carrier's responsibility. They deal directly with the manufacturer.

Also after 30 days if you have issues with a device Verizon (typically) will not let you switch to another Brand Make or Model without paying full retail of course. Like the previous poster stated it will be a refurbished unit after the 30 days.

The numbering system for online is different than internally. It's easier to find things internally, believe it or not.

And we don't use .png files ;)
What do you mean you "don't use png files"?
Every other phone seems to use one... i.e. https://scache.vzw.com/images_b2c/phones/thumb/htc_droid_eris.png

And yes I know things would be easier to find internally, that's what makes it such a fun challenge from out here :-)

oh man, I want to get lucky again like when I found the winmo 6.1 update for the SCH-i760 before it came out...

That calendar was photoshopped. Red characters for the 28th did not line up with the other dates even though it was the same phrase.

Dude, I snapped the picture with my BB storm. I find it amusing you think I want to spend my time photoshopping a calendar to put on here. I hope I'm wrong or that the calendar is stating the release of an additional handset and the incredible is released tomorrow. I know people on here don't know me and really don't care weather they believe me or not. I don't claim to be an insider, I simply used the phrase "inside info" because I am able to get to the back of the store and all the rooms since my wife cleans the store. I have stated that from day 1. I also find it funny that someone can say "I work for Verizon and we have never seen such a calendar" and everyone says oh well there you go the calendar was a fake. The supposed Verizon employee could be a 12 year old kid with internet access. Everything on this forum you have to take for what you want. I'm trying to share what info I found and will share more if I see more. I'm not going to get in an argument back and forth on the height to centimeters of letters on a calendar. People are trying to analyze things a little to much. I took a pic on my phone of what I saw in the manager's office of our local verizon corporate store. That's it.

NO- no service, no honoring warranty...

not true... they still honor the warranty

Seriously?!?!

Then why would people bother to buy from Best Buy for phones. I've never seen a great selection there, when I've asked for help to show me how to use a primary phone feature one one of their (at the time) high end phones, the CSR had no idea how to get it to input text into the browser or anything else for that matter. Sad. Do they try to push some aftermarket warranty like on all their sales stuff? Is VZW ouf of the pic completely? What about NE2, etc? How does that work?

Really interested to learn more. Have always steered away from BB for mobile phones for all the reasons listed above but am definitely looking at it with an open mind and a desire to save $$$ :) (but who isn't, right?)

What! Really!? I buy my phones from Best Buy, and take it to Verizon when I have an issue. They never have a problem with that, and take care of me in the store

So much misinformation in this thread it's unbelievable. I do work for Verizon and let me clear a few things up... iBowToAndroid, if you work for Verizon, quit. In the first 30 days, if it wasn't purchased from a corporate store, it needs to go back to the place of purchase. After the 30 days, Verizon will be the ones to honor the warranty. The ONLY exception is if you get a phone from Asurion. If they replace it when you make a lost/stolen/damaged claim, they then honor the warranty. I hope that's cleared up.

Secondly, I don't know if you all are aware but the FRU policy is no longer in effect once you are out of your 1 year manufacture warranty. If you didn't choose insurance, extended warranty, or TEC (combination of both), you will have the option to upgrade or get a CPO (certified pre-owned). It's a price that is more than 1 year pricing but less than full retail. EnV Touch's go for about $179. With that, you get a phone that has been completely checked out and confirmed working, battery, back cover, charger and a 1 year warranty on that. You also have the option to purchase insurance on that CPO as well. This just changed on April 1st.

They'll still play dumb...If they acknowledge the Incredible's existence before the actual release, they are subject to Verizon's policy for treason and my be hung.

Depends who you talk to. Some people will openly talk about it, more so the Tech's. But we are supposed to tell you "I cannot confirm nor deny..." but honestly, you guys will know about things before we do in the store. Now, that doesn't mean that some of us don't read the forums and know what you guys know so we can talk about it to customers :) We aren't really given info about new phones until a few days before launch unless you go looking for it in systems and things.

Okay so my wife thinks I am crazy for friend requesting Ivan Seidenberg the ceo of verizon. So, when he becomes my friend I will ask him when the Incredible will be out and I will pass it along. That is the best I can do folks lol. It beats sitting around and waiting.

He's not going to tell you anything. Just give it some time. We will all find out soon enough.

I believe you dude, don't sweat it. You have to understand that there have been quite a few (fly by night informants) with info that never panned out, so it's almost now as if any news that seems to be to good to be true must be photo shopped. There are some that when the phone is actually launched they will still be in denial and think Verizon's testman techs are p/shopping just to torment us.

I remember when you made your 1st post about you wife cleaning...I believed you then and I do now. :D

Lajboys, for what it's worth, I believe you. If anyone can relate to your frustration over trying your damndest to provide some useful information for this pack of wolves, it's me. Just because they weren't there, they think it didn't happen. You'll find that the same people who are discrediting you now are the same people who think that the moon landing was a hoax. And they won't believe otherwise until they're standing on the moon themselves! You've been nothing but an asset, and I applaud you for your efforts in trying to benefit the thread. I look forward to any additional information that you might be able to provide. Thanks again.

I hope they use their 10 year anniversary tomorrow to announce the phone. Even though I won't be able to get it until the end of the month, I just want a release date so I can look forward to it.
