im going to vzw this afternoon to xchange my env touch again and if no one gives me info im putting them thru a wall..i know its not their fault but my anger has got to be focused somewhere and maybe verizon will open their eyes and give info once they realize their workers getting roughed up over their inability to share valuable info! haha

FYI....as I said in my last post..... their new required data plan is how I ended up searching for the HTC INCREDIBLE in the first place.

As has been posted here many times... please read the 1st post in this thread. There are many here who enjoy all information they get on this forum including the sports news..... the EVERGREN thread is for absolute on topic posts. :p

I've been wrestling with the same idea. I'm a huge Android fan, and don't know a whole lot about the Palm Pre Plus or Web OS. It's a great price though, and the free Mobile Hotspot would be very handy for both my wife and I in some situations. It's not something I'd be able to justify paying extra for, but free. I'll take it at that price!

I'm still not quite at the breaking point to jump ship, but I feel the pull for something else more every day. I'm also getting pressure from my wife, as her old phone shuts down on it's own every once in a while.

Maybe VZW is monitoring this site, and they're just thinking to themselves, we'll just get a few more suckers to get DROIDS and Pre's and then we'll release the Incredible. They probably have a head count of how many people in here are about to break.

Texas Instruments OMAP 3630 Android prototype: photos and video! | Electricpig

Here you can read that. It's not much i know but it's better than nothing, you'll still be unable to watch the video.

Im not familiar with the 3630 myself, as the article says, it's similar to the predecessor but does so much more. HD video, 720p output @ 30FPS which is basically the max for movies etc...and he also notes that the live wallpapers or watever are much much smoother on the 3630 than the Nexus One.

Edit: i watch the video which is a bit different from the other one. And you can hear the guy in the background say it's a shrink (already known) but has a few enhancements and basically the result is just a lot faster GPU and has a lot more features.

Listen, im not saying CPU doesn't play a big role, it does. But the DROID can be better/same as Snapdragon. A lot of people just assume it's old and slow because snapdragon CPU runs at 1ghz while the DROID cpu runs at 550mhz. If you push the DROID CPU to 1.1ghz (it will still be a bit slower than snapdragon because of architecture etc..but not by much or anything noticeable) it will essentially be just as fast as Snapdragon. Then you add into the mix the GPU's, in terms of real-time performance, the PowerVR in the DROID and iPhone 3GS is just overall better than the AMD in Snapdragon giving the edge to the DROID IMHO when the DROID CPU is as 1.1ghz.

That video of the OMAP 3630 gives a good sense of how much the GPU can help in games etc...compared to the current GPU in the DROID and iPhone 3GS. 60FPS increase is hell of a lot in 3D apps.

Actually, Android recently announced support for OpenGL through the NDK (native development kit). This specifically allows C/C++ code using OpenGL. Great for games etc. In fact, the video showing the speed comparison between the iPhone 3GS and Android is using Open GL through the NDK.

this thread is about nothing in particular. mods already said it was ok for chitchat so you have to take it for what it is.. apparently..

i believe hes saying in reference to ctia and everything leading to this and not hearing any incredible news.. basically its like verizon is that student that sits in class and knows the answer to a problem but refuses to say anything for fear of attention and lets someone else have the spotlight when if all they did was answer and speak up it could've helped them alot and pass that class! haha verizon=F

Or, maybe he was given a dirt nap by Verizon for leaking info.
 
Where did they say "chitchat" was OK? I'd rather it stay on topic IDGAS about where anyone went to school, is going to school, what they're doing at work, or whether they are going to or coming from working out.
