i understand that the date is off in the inventory system but this is a brand new sku. i did a search on the web for the sku and upc and no results have turned up so it is a brand new product. the bby is the code for best buy not blackberry. I understand that the date says 03/29 but what occurs sometimes is the product gets in inventory about a month ahead of the in store release date. so i double checked the sku on best buys website and nothing has come up, plus no inventory shows in the warehouse so it leads me to believe that this could very well be the incredible under a different sku with bby as the brand and a random model number

I have been following this thread since before it was called the "incredible." I watched the rise of Nash and the fall of news radio. I checked the thread with every twist and turn. I contributed a photoshop comparison on the nexus and incredible... So much passion, so much folly, so much time with silence from verizon.

Over the weekend I hit my wall. No more waiting. This is how it went down:
I I walk into best buy. They have tons of ipads. I ask about the return policy. They say 14 days. I buy it just to check it out. I think... I wonder if I can get some info out of verizon since it is right next to best buy. I walk in with my iPad in hand. I talk to the dude that runs the shop, he knows nothing about the incredible or nexus one release dates. He is a cool guy, he would tell me if he knew something.

I walk over to the palm section before leaving since they have the free wifi hotspots for the life of the phone special going on. The sales woman convinces me to try it out. She says she will pay my restocking fee herself if I don't like the phone. She puts it in writing. I get 30 days to tryout the pre with free wifi hotspots for my new iPad. What a sweet deal. Now my iPad had 3G and gps via the phone... For free.

So here I am, at what could be the final goodbye to this fine group... If there is no incredible in 28 days... I am sticking with the palm pre and free hotspots for my iPad. The setup works amazingly. If there is no incredible by the end of april,it is time to get something else. By the beginning of 2011 there will be more phones that will destroy the incredible than you can count on two hands. Buying now and getting free wifi is a great deal until the really great phones with front facing cameras, and dual core CPUs are the norm. The longer it takes to release the incredible the less desirable it becomes.

I still hope for an April release but if it does not come I have a solid phone and a quicker upgrade path with a 40$ savings every month.

By the way, the pre plus has a brilliant os, but the hardware is just ok. The os, is truly fantastic though... Makes it a fun phone to have.

Oh well, good luck all. Hope we have something good in a few weeks!

I can accept anything that releases in a month that beings with A and ends with pril.

Just to restate what we've already heard, the VZWOffers twitter account is getting blasted with criticism. Of course, no one at Verizon seems to care, but it is still cathartic to read these mini diatribes.

Lol, wow I didn't realize it was that bad. I'm sure its painfully obvious to the VZW leadership that we are so eager for the phone. I think instead of badgering them like we're desperate, maybe if we played hard to get they'd listen.

For $599? I dont think so - Best Buy already carries the Droid and the Devour doesnt carry a MSRP of $599. Its got to be something else...

And could BBY mean Best Buy (an inventory system prefix?), not Blackberry?

possibly one of Verizon's mini notebooks- price would be about right I think

what they are saying is true. I worked at best buy for about 5 years and they love to use BBY in anything they can, heck half there passwords have bby in them

Powerful, yet painful post. Good luck to you.

If you're planning on doing a lot of netflix streaming and the such, watch the 5GB limit.

By the way,the palm was free. FREE! And saves me 40 a month.

P.s. This is my first time posting with an iPad. I didn't check to see if I miss-typed anything in my previous post... Nice interface.

Alright- after some UPC searching... the 00444768##### prefix has been used for Verizon and CDMA phones for a few years. In the oldest records it looks like Audiovox was the main source of that prefix. Lately it has been used for Audiovox/Casio on Verizon and the Droid Eris among other HTC devices on both Sprint and VZW...

UPC Database:

Well, whatever it is, it doesn't have a rebate - I checked. :D That was my first thought; I think VZW's online rebate submission used to tell you what phone it was based on the UPC you input - not so anymore. :(

the Gateway netbook on Verizon has a retail value of $599. Didnt the "calender" have something on it also about a new netbook?

you can add Paychex - 19% ;)

Everyone, dont get down just because you didnt see your company listed- there are literally hundreds and hundreds of companies that have employee discounts thru Verizon- any store or CS can check and see if you qualify..

Edit: Also, I think the standard discount for state/government employees is 15%

Remember to hit the "End" key to quickly get to the bottom of the loooong page. "Home" takes you back to the top.

Didn't you hear? Verizon says the it's coming soon!

Been lurking for 6 or 8 and a Verizon customer for more than 10 years. A shout out to everyone who has worked so hard to gather intel on this new "miracle" phone from big red.

Unless something spectacular (ney, incredible) happens with this phone, it occurs to me that Verizon has dropped the ball big time on this one.

At this point I am almost wishing they push it a bit longer so that the Sprint EVO is less than 12 weeks away causing people to hold off of the Incredible and move to Sprint or any other carrier for that matter. This would be a good lesson in capitalism for Verizon to learn. They need to serve their customers. The Droid was great last year but it just doesn't cut it today. Keep up or get out out of the business.

I have read tons about how they want to do extra QA. I call that BS. Their phones are as reliable/unreliable as everyone else. The delay is not about quality, it is something else. Who knows what. Laziness? Hubris? Stupidity?

Thanks again for the work of everyone here to track this mythical phone. Sorry for the semi rant.
