Need Stock Rom

I need the stock rom for the Galaxy S2 (VM). If someone can get it or has it, I would be very grateful. The reason I need it is I inadvertently got a Sprint stock rom when I was trying out a root method. Plus it would be good just to have it here on the forums.

Hi I just did the same thing. I went to the Samsung Open Source website and found the FJ12 firmware.

But I can't figure out how to get it onto my phone. Do I use Odin?

I'm not really sure. I haven't messed with Odin before, and I won't be home till late Sunday to try anything.

No, I haven't been able to get it to work. I am needing the stock recovery before I can do anything with my phone. I was hoping I could use it to unbrick my phone but no go yet. I'm still trying
 
A stock rom is still needed. I tried the guide given by TheBritton but my phone still sadly thinks it is a sprint phone and wont send mms.
 
The open source is just the source code for the kernel and various platform source codes. What someone needs to do is use Odin to dump the system(rom) from a stock phone if my Odin and Samsung memory serves me right.

Once I get my phone within a day or two I should have a Odin flashble stock rom, stock kernel, stock recovery and then I'll work on flash able zips through cwm or twrp.
 
Also my brother has worked with Samsung phones with Odin a lot and he feels its very easy to root them, because you can dump the stock rom as a .img, mount it in Linux and add in root the pack it back up and flash through Odin. Then we can flash a recovery.

But like I said after I get my phone I will get to work with making a fool proof stock root method, then make a cwm recovery based on our specific kernel and everything so there hopefully wonr be no trouble. It shouldn't be to hard with all the work currently on the epic 4g touch!
 
I would be really thankful if you can upload the stock rom for the samsung galaxy s2 4g from VM. I accidentally made my s2 into a sprint phone and now I dont know how to revert back without any stock rom for VM.

Yeah its not to hard to dump the stock rom out into a system.img file. I will make a Odin flash able stock rom, then I will add root and busybox and everything to it and make an Odin flash able rooted stock rom!

From what I've read everyone packs the recovery into the kernel image. I'm not sure if it has to be like this or they just do it because the stock rom flashes the stock recovery at boot. Once I actually have the device I will look into its layout more!

I don't believe it is safe to perform a backup of any kind with Agats recovery on this device. It may be safe but it's not worth the risk. Be patient and wait until a known stable ClockWork Mod is created specifically for this phone.

Edit: You may can perform a backup with this Agats recovery but I wouldn't rely on it as a way to get back to stock. I'm assuming this based on:

the agat recovery is the best for samsung based roms and the el26 is for customs roms but is only compatible with gingerbread roms

Just chill out and wait till we get a stock dump. People aren't going to risk there phone so that you can have a stock rom. My phone should be in Monday so I'll try to have an Odin flash able stock rom soon!
