So if what that other guy on the other forums is saying, we'll see the Incredible between April 23rd-30th prob

so if the phones are being tested by the verizon wireless counsel this week, does that mean they'll be available next week?

Nothing you mentioned there would even BEGIN to tell you I was tethering. The ONLY thing you could see is if I was using a large amount of data which might hint at tethering but nothing else. You couldn't tell if I was using a proxy server, if the USB cable was connected, or what version of a page I was viewing. You'd have to have a packet sniffer and check every person's traffic. Highly illegal, crazy amount of overhead, and exactly what you're not doing.

So no. You can't tell if I'm tethering. Verizon employees aren't magical. Please don't embarrass yourself. You genuinely seem like an intelligent person in many posts, but not in this case.

Not sure why I feel like keeping this topic going, except that carriers do have ways of detecting people that are tethering if you are using a bad tethering app. I know when I had my touch pro 2, everyone was freaking out because they were getting huge charges on their bill from tethering. The tethering apps being used by the custom ROMS had some people racking up huge bills, eventually they figured out what was wrong with their app and fixed it. It appears the radios that the phones used were letting carriers know that the users were tethering. Check this out for more info

I'm going to bed, folks. I expect to see us past page 500 and have a confirmed release date when I wake up around noon. See you all then.

Interesting...
Was reading a bit more of the nexus forum stuff came across this post by the same guy that said the Incredible comes out this month. States that the Incredible and the n1 are the same phone but the Incredible has the senseUI.

Official Nexus One VERIZON thread! - Page 281 - Nexus One Forum - Google Phone Forum

So now I am wondering... why would verizon carry the same two phones but one with a different ui?

Where's the proof of this? Besides, as far as we know, the Nexus One sports a 5 megapixel camera without flash AND other sources claim that there will be no changes at all to this version of the N1 . . . nobody says any of this has been confirmed, just saying.

I don't know where people think we are getting that phone. I have heard nothing about it. I am not the be all end all, but people that would know what is and isn't coming out haven't mentioned it to me.

This was a few pages back. So for reference, viperboy was responding to a comment I made about the Saygus VPhone coming to Verizon possibly being the "2nd Android Phone" released this month.

Viperboy (and anyone who really cares), Saygus announced this at CES and at CTIA. They still have information up on their site about being the first in Verizon Wireless

Sorry, don't mean to be too rude here but viper lets get real. The majority of the information you have provided has been already gleaned from other sources. You are correct, your vzw position is not exactly high on the ladder, and your "I can leave and take my info with me" remarks simply are ridiculous. I wouldn't say anything or be so blunt but you have been way to condescending and to be honest, kind of a dick. You probably are a pretty chill dude but change the attitude man its unnecessary.

He subsequently clarified his remarks that the phone has the same proc and other similar hardware but a better camera.

Exactly my point. I DO think the Incredible is coming out soon but I don't trust the credibility of the poster on the other forum. Viper sounds like a more reputable source!

bad words on his part. He later states that they are 2 different devices. Call it what you man. These devices have "similar internals" but are not a carbon copy of one another. IMO Incredible wins due to a sleeker look AND A TRACKPAD!

I dont need any GD blinking lights, my damn Blackberry 8330 can do that, NEXT;)

That admin on the other forum saying N1 in June doesn't make sense, no one will want to buy it at that point, not with a new iPhone literally weeks away as well as an impending release of the EVO. So illogical.

How does that really hurt Verizon though? They will likely get the Incredible out before then and they will have the iPhone version out eventually. I think any new subs they get from the N1 will just be a bonus.

It might not hurt them, but it definitely will make the N1 a non-factor. Why announce you're partnering with Verizon at the N1 conference only to release the phone 6 months down the road. What was the point? It's just stupid if true, that's all. Just take the option off the N1 site for Verizon already then.

I use Quickpull Free, set if for 5:00am and mine never restarts again during the day. Haven't done a battery pull since I got it. I still want the Inc. but it has made living with the Curve easier. Might try Sprint "worry free" trial just to kill time waiting but don't know which current phone to try.

I use Quickpull, too. It takes about 7 or 8 minutes, and I'm done............... oh, wait, you're talkin' about something for a phone....

I agree. Google seemed more interested in just making a big headline with the GSm carriers first. I suspect HTC brokered a deal with Verizon to come up with a CDMA phone quicker than the timeline that Google had in place for the CDMA version of the N1. I am guessing that Verizon will not be heavily subsidizing the N1 when it is released. Just a suspicion anyway.
