Sorry, don't mean to be too rude here but viper lets get real. The majority of the information you have provided has been already gleaned from other sources. You are correct, your vzw position is not exactly high on the ladder, and your "I can leave and take my info with me" remarks simply are ridiculous. I wouldn't say anything or be so blunt but you have been way to condescending and to be honest, kind of a dick. You probably are a pretty chill dude but change the attitude man its unnecessary.

There seems to be a lot of effort in this forum devoted to trying to control each other's personalities. Seems silly to me. Most of us are professional adults and we should be able to tolerate a wide array of personality styles.

And as for viper, I appreciate him. I was a rep until a month ago, and I can say the boy knows his policy very well. What's more, he takes his time to try and clarify things to help.

I think we all would be happier should we spend more time thanking each other for our efforts, and less time policing personality styles.

Hi guys (and gals) - can someone please tell me what the testman site is? It looks like the regular verizon site.

thanks

Supposedly, it's where they tinker around with the site when they need to add new material or modify the main page so they can test it out and see how it looks before they move it to the real page. I think it's just a deliberate distraction that VZW uses as bait to keep us busy with more speculation. You know that old joke "How do you keep a blonde busy for hours? Giver her a page that says "turn over" written on both sides." Well, how does VZW keep a bunch of anxious idiots busy? Keep taking the testman site up and down! I really can't see why they would use a publicly accessible site without authentication to test their changes, especially if those changes involve adding new phones. To me it would make more sense to have an internal, private web server to test this kind of stuff. Maybe it only makes sense to me.

It is where they test any type of changes to the website before they are moved into the production enviorment.

So right now they would look the same, but you will see changes on testman before verizonwireless.com

i'm thinking once VZW announces this phone it will be released SOON. Like a week or less. It appears like VZW is getting everything lined up to make this quick.... Such as, one day it will be *boom* and it appears, is announced, and released a few days-week later.

I thought we would see some pre-launch advertising (we may still), but VZW is being ultra quiet on this. Almost like they want this to be quick and dirty.

I know people may not like talking about this, but I wonder if VZW is planning on picking up an Apple product, if that has anything to do with this. Maybe VZW treats this like a flash in the pan?

Has anyone heard from NKT lately?

this thread needs some cliffs

here is to hoping for a good week of inc news

and at the same time i'm going to start refamiliarizing myself with other options out there to make sure i havent inadvertently put on blinders to what other phones are soon to arrive on the shelves...

I recommend the Motorola Startac, or Nokia 5600 series. If those don't fit your needs, I would go with the Incredible.:D

Well, this is the stellar response about the Incredible I got back from the rep who emailed me:

I am sorry but we can't offer or discuss a device we do not have. How could we?
You are free to choose any phone we want. We even have open standards now. If a manufacturer makes a device we do not sell directly that is compatible with our network you can activate it on your account..
If there is a CDMA device you would prefer over what we offer.. You are free to purchase it elsewhere and activate it on your account if that works better for you.

I've always heard that but every VZW rep denies it. They say the device is not compatible. How can I force the issue?

Don't know if this means anything, BUT If you go to the testman site, that area on the homepage where verizon typically has 5 tabs that u can click through for it's featured items is BLANK. new stuff soon maybe???

Very interesting! :)

Yeah, He said this in response to my comment that Sprint has the EVO, which is much more attractive than anything Verizon currently has or will have in the near future.

It's stupid to me to promote this idea at the corporate level and have every sales rep in the stores deny it.

You want that cap medium or well done, Steven? :p

yankee-hat-on-fire.jpg

If any apple phone comes to verizon in june, I will take a nibble from my yankees cap and burn it. (I want a new one anyway so there is no issue there) ;)

Can someone please explain to me why the warehouse would have the units if the council didnt even see it or play with it yet?
The hardware specs were finalized long ago. The council most likely is the last line of defense before the phone hits the consumer. They are just looking for any necessary software tweeks at that point, and are most likely expected to find nothing. You must remember this phone has already been tested by many others before this final stage.
