Hitman Absolution

Okay, so Hitman Absolution came out a little while ago, anyone playing it? I thought this could be a thread to share your experiences and likes/dislikes about it.

I'm only a couple of levels in and I'm really enjoying it. I've been playing the Hitman games since 2 (which I was awful at!), but really enjoyed Blood Money, so I was sure this one would be great.There are some changes, but I think they aren't too bad (changes to the disguise system are leaving some folks upset...).

I actually tethered up my phone to the playstation to do a few of the online contracts! It's nice because the online component doesn't need a speedy or lag-free connection, so my phone did just fine!

Unfortunately, I'm clearly not as well versed in the game as some of the other players, I scored far below average on the levels I played.

Also, for the other hitman fans out there, the collection featuring 2, contracts and blood money is coming out sometime in January!

I haven't played the new one yet, I'll probably wait until it drops in price, but I enjoyed the older ones. I spent a lot of time getting Silent Assassin on all of the levels. It's really cool the creative thinking you have to do to get through some of those levels perfectly. Also a lot of trial and error and sneaking, which some people can't stand, but it gives you a feeling of accomplishment when you pull off that perfect kill and walk away like nothing happened lol.

I'm thinking about maybe getting this one but will probably wait till xmas,

It does look really good but ive only played one of the previous hitman games and I was truly awful at it

And with the fact that im on AC3 and thinking about putting skyrim back on im pretty sure ive got easily enough gaming to last me till xmas

I'm intrigued about the linking the phone up though? what can you do with it once its linked?

I have it for the PC, but I haven't been able to play it too much. I just got to the 1st real mission where you're helping out Birdie. Pretty awesome though.

I was up to mission 4 (with tutorial being 1), and then my save game was corrupted... but the game is fun enough to play through again and again.

It was a funny glitch. I had just removed a guard, and then 47 just walked around him in circles until I did a hard reboot. It was making me dizzy.

I still haven't beaten the 'average' for the online portion on any level yet

Awesome. I did get professional rank on the tutorial mission though. Pretty much went bananas on all of the guards.

yeah i have been dying to play this. i have played every single hitman game since the series first came out. i just do not have the time to play it. i too will wait til more towards xmas to get it. hopefully it will go on sale.

i'm curious to what y'all think about it.

I was told by a friend who was a avid hitman fan, that it ruined the title, and was a bust. Now I could be wrong and so could he but I have to agree. Only upside is the graphic revamp.

I'm really enjoying it so far... (granted, I'm only a handful of missions in), but the missions are fun and I'm really liking it.

There are some features that I wish they'd have kept from blood money though... I for one loved the newspaper briefing at the end of each mission. And the money / gun customization (this feature is in the online portion, but is missing from the single player mode).

I got it at best buy, and they gave me a $10 gift card with the purchase, so I'd bet someone else has a similar offer (or maybe a better one with the holiday shopping coming up).

I think that some old time fans may be a but off put by it because this title revamped the disguise system. It used to be if you get a particular uniform or disguise, you were free to go where you want. No one would recognize you.

They changed it by having guards recognized other guards, and police recognize other police. Personally, I'm split on it. Sure, it is a bit odd that in a city as large as Chicago (game's setting) all the police know what every police looks like, but at least it's not like you grab a uniform and then can do whatever.

It makes sense in some cases and not it others. If you took the disguise of a member of a gang, they'd likely know what other members of their gang looked like.

I definitely wouldn't say that this game is rubbish or ruins the title. It does deviate from the normal hitman formula a little bit, but not completely.
